“Above It All” was captured over Los Angeles in 8K resolution in November 2018. This scene was captured over the course of 93 minutes from Mt. Wilson in the San Gabriel Mountains, looking southwest over Los Angeles. A light layer of haze and smog sits against the city before the cloudscape above is lit by the setting sun, followed by the awakening of the city lights. The feeling of being in ntaure in the mountains high above the bustling city is always so serene and peaceful.
This is the third in a series of 8K videos that explore the longer view. Most timelapses are, by definition, very fast. By slowing things down, we can fully observe a change occurring - day becoming night, clouds passing overhead, the myriad movements of a city.
