For fifty years, Los Lobos has merged traditional Mexican music with American blues, country, folk, R&B, and zydeco, resulting in seventeen studio albums and countless accolades. Earlier this year, the band joined the Museum's Michael McCall to discuss their history and cultural impact. In this clip, hear Los Lobos talk about one of their earliest and most seamless transitions-from traditional Mexican folk music to Los Angeles-based rock.
This program was presented in support of the major Museum exhibition "Western Edge: The Roots and Reverberations of Los Angeles Country-Rock," presented by City National Bank.
