This is the same message I posted on his video. You’re absolutely right. I do have a cheat day but I don’t eat crappy foods. But still can’t lose it. Sorry for the long message but maybe you’ll be able to help…. For me to maintain my weight at 240 my calorie count is 2900. I’m 240 lbs and I just don’t know what to do. I only eat fast food once a month. Maybe 3 jr bacon cheese burgers a 6 piece nugget and a medium frostie. So 1500 cals or so. When I do my cheat day that meal is really the only thing I’ll eat for the day except for a couple protein supplements and then I go workout. I do 30 min cardio a day or more. I lift every day taking in 160-200 grams of protein daily. I am seeing some results but the gut isn’t changing much. Everything I eat is low carb and I don’t go over my maintenance number on calories. I usually take in 2000-2400 cals a day. So I’m under that for 6 months now and no results on my gut or love handles. I’m lookn good top side and my legs are getting definition but this gut won’t go away. When I go to the gym I literally burn 1200 cals. So that’s only 1000-1200 cals that’s not getting burned at the gym but being burned off throughout the day. I’ll burn 3900 - 4000 cals a friggn day. 😩 🤦 WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!? Why won’t it fuckn shrink!!!! I’m putting on muscle. 💪 for sure…. I know this bc my scale has went from 225 to 240. I’m thinking of just lifting for 20 minutes and doing an hour of cardio a day for 7 days a week. I just don’t know what the hell is going on. 😡 utter bullshit……Finally…I can’t take 235-240 grams of protein a day that’s insane I’ll be spray painting the toilet with the painful black protein squirts and it’s NOT pleasant. Taking in that much protein just makes my gut hurt. Could be I’m 50 so idk 🤷 anymore. The gut is the only thing that’s gotta go. If I can’t loose this damn gut what’s the point if even busting my ass. I mean 240 grams of protein per day?!?!? What the hell im not trying to be Sam Sulek. I don’t wanna look like a couch 🛋️ I mean good for him and for all these people that make it happen but I’m at my wits end here. I could be working in the yard or Sittn in my porch with a cold beer being happy vs BUSTING MY ASS 7 days a week just to be a goal setter. I’m not happy. I’m just not. And it’s harder for me being disabled. Damn parachutes didn’t open in the army so now I’m a civilian yeah fucking me. I mean what do I gotta do to lose a gut and love handles go full on David Goggins and break my legs running 25 miles a day. Jesus Christ I’m about to quit this bull shit!!

@@seanl6478there is no way someone could be losing 5 pounds per week without losing muscles. In order to keep muscles, you have to go slowly, and add resistance training. That said, you can only keep muscles you already have. If you’re skinny, but fat, you might as well go « all out », since there isn’t much muscles to lose. I love these videos. Your attitude, sense of humor, and sarcasm remind me of some of the team guys I used to serve with. I started intermittent fasting in June of 2020 and I have had great results. I am 55 y/o and a disabled vet so working out is challenging and infrequent due to chronic illnesses and injuries. I lost about 20 lbs of fat and gained 5 lbs of muscle in the first 5 months, approaching single-digit body fat. Then my health went to sh*t again. Since then I have regained 10 lbs of lard and lost at least 3 lbs of muscle. I initially started the 16:8 cycle but moved to an 18:6 routine with a 40 hr fast from Friday evening to Sunday noon. IF is the only reason I have not completely blown all my gains and I am still at about 14% subcutaneous fat if my scale can be trusted. I just wish I could implement all of your workout routines without restrictions but I just do what I can handle and keep going after it. God bless.

Just subscribed to your Swole in 30 days program a week ago. After the first week I'm completely blown away. The most astounding thing to me was it took a week for me to realize that I was supposed to do more than 1 set! The exercises are so intense, taken to failure and then with no rest in between, I never imagined we'd be expected to go through these killer routines more than once. At 56 years, not sure if I can without serious loss of sphincter control or possibly a stroke. For what it's worth, just going through the entire routine once to complete failure has already given me results. Guess I have to start week one over again, but first I think I'll get my affairs in order,. John.

Nice to see somebody put out no bullshit videos for a change. I'm pretty analytical myself, and I appreciate somebody doing all the experimenting and work for me. All I have to do is listen, follow, and make myself want to cry in the gym. At 61, I used the excuse that my metabolism was too slow now that I'm old, but your no excuse no bullshit attitude has given me inspiration. I had already been on a no process food, no added sugar, 1200ish cal per day diet, and it sucks. I know it's supposed to suck. But it's working. Down 10 lbs since Jan 1. 176 lbs now, but have a long way to go. Thanks for the encouragement.

I am still here and I still use that same 1200 Calorie diet. I also know that that supposed to be too low. However I work 10 hour shifts and sit on my ass all day in front of a computer. Not like the old days when I was a blue color worker hauling couches and chairs around all day long. I try to be as accurate as I possibly can and I use the myfitness pal app to do so and I weigh everything I eat. I'm sure that I'm bound to be off a little bit here or there because if not I would be getting sick and you're right that would be too low so some of that must be either my mistake or the apps mistake. Either way the weight comes off at about 2 and a half pounds a week when I'm diligent. I don't have the wheel power to keep it up with never having a cheat day on the weekend so that always screws me up a little too. But when I did it for 3 months straight with no cheat days I lost about 10 pounds or more a month and I feel like that was healthy.

I'm 56 and have been training again for about 2 years (seriously, for about 9 months). I was a bodybuilder in my 30's, so I'm fairly well versed in workout techniques, nutrition, etc. but can always learn more. My whole life, I've been an Ectomorph with a fast metabolism, and had to fight hard for every ounce of muscle mass. This is still the case, except now, I apparently have a fast metabolism everywhere but my gut. I am low-carb / keto(ish), I don't binge, I eat sugar never, empty carbs rarely, work out on a 4 on, 1 off split and hardly ever cheat. Also, I do a 16-8 Intermittent split. Yet, despite all this, every ounce I gain seems to go directly to my gut, and every ounce I lose seems to come off everywhere but. I look pretty good for my age, but this gut is pissing me off. In my heyday, I was 175-180, 29-inch waist, 17+inch arms. 180 was my plateau, couldn't gain another ounce if I tried, short of juicing, which I never did. Now, I weigh 180 again, but 34-inch waist, and won't even discuss my arms. Sorry for the wall of text, but I can't seem to get a straight answer anywhere, and decided to rant, instead.

After 45 fat gets stored naturally in with the muscle, so if your in your 50s you have to diet and exercise, but more importantly the key to losing that belly fat is staying active...all day long. Not exercising all day but not sitting or laying around for hours at a time. Something I made up is exercise snack breaks. If I have been sitting for an hour then I do 3 to 4 sets with 30s break between sets right on the spot. It could be jumping jacks, pushups, air squats, leg raises etc but I do something. I know it bothers my coworkers and I don't give a fk.

You use composition well, and I love the lack of BGM, your voice is easy to listen to. Great stuff, great tips But what about carnivore diet? I suppose it's just an extreme ketogenic diet, but I was hoping to hear about it!

Bruh I’ve never been dished such raw and honest material! The warrior fasting (23hr fast, 1hr window) sounds really appealing. Trying to stick to a diet is hard for me and it could get away with ramming certain foods into me in the space of an hour, knowing I don’t eat that much during the day anyways, sounds like something I could get into. I’m also a student living in a money-savey tax-grabby world so feeling hangry (without unaliving myself) is already something I’m used to. Thank you so much for this!

SUBSCRIBED! ive been yo yo-ing for 10 years, finally on track once i realized boxing and combat training was the thing that will keep me going. After you spoke about the intermittent fasting, and pushing it toward the end of the day so you could sleep at night I hit the damn button! This is an actual person, with actual real world candor telling me Im not crazy, and giving me that last little piece I needed to take this further. I actually like fasting but basically through my upbringing and some other factors, going to bed hungry, messes with me quite a bit mentally. Its nice to hear confirmation that this can work. Thank you.

Great advice. Im still overweight but I can vouch for intermittent fasting. A few years back I was worried that I was diabetic, because I started getting sugar shakes, and I could barely exercise without loading up with food an hour before. After a few weeks of intermittent fasting all this went away. It was like my body relearned how to operate on an empty stomach. My energy levels are much better, Im not dependent on calories like before and I generally feel more alert. Now I just need to eat less pies when Im not fasting.

I love how short nd straight to the point you are in your videos but imma need a longer explanation for this one. Can we get a walk through for a day with each version of the given diet and what it will go like in the week. I got kind of confused with how i should do them interchangeably.

Thanks for the content. Been doing martial arts for 30 years now with all the weight category dry sessions and stuff. I sign every word in that video. For me the warrior dier works best with the hunger window in the morning and my first meal being at 1400-ish. Absolutely effortless provided you always stay hydrated. 16-8 is enough for most, no need to go nuts with it. Also 20-30 min of cardio in the morning while your energy depots are empty will bring you even further. And my dudes remember, it's not a sprint, it's a marathon. So don't try to rush it to get crazy results shortly. Thus you will burnt out. Start it as your daily routine without being too hard on yourself and the results will come. You won't recognise yourself in a year or two.

I was 318lbs a year and a half ago and am now down to 273lbs. Im 6’1, 26 years old, and have been on TRT for over 4 years now. I am starting to see lots of definition in my muscle when I work out, but I dont look completely out of shape anymore. I really value and appreciate the content you provide because I actually use a lot of the exercises in your videos. I do have one question and I really hope you see this and reply to it because I could use some advice. I am eating between 1200-1700 calories a day, 150g protein, 25g fat, and 40g carbs. I am stuck at 273lbs however, my clothes continue to get looser and looser, im getting stronger, and my cardio is on point. At this point would I be in a recomposition phase than a strictly fat loss phase? Mahalo nui loa from Hawaii 👊🏽

I dropped from 100 kilos to 80 by doing intermittent fasting. Basically I'd work the entire day, go to the gym on my lunch, chug a protein shake afterwards. Then after work I'd eat a packed salad from Tesco for about 250 calories and a frozen pizza for another 1000 calories. Somehow that was sustainable. Now I'm home officing and I'm screwed.

been "Warrior" Diet since 1991 in the Army, it use to be called the "Legionnaire's Fast" after the way Roman soldiers ate on the move, IF they had food to eat. And it works and you feel great once you get used to it. WOLVES hunt over miles of territory every day but make a kill once or twice meaning they eat once twice in that time, we just eat way too much and most of the "foods" we eat are not good for us in the first place. Great info as usual. Have had to re-learn the foods to eat since I have MS- lost the Army in 1998 and because of really bad medical care the past 6-7 years at a VA medical hospital, I lost the Army body and developed emotional issues from not being allowed to get well from "I'm the doctor and you are not" environment, but your videos, a GP away from the VA who is a serious lifter, and my body's willingness to not fight the 20-4 fast, I'm getting back into the form I use to have. Sometimes you need to know you are not doing your most, admit it- and then,..., DO IT! LOL!!!!

Ryan made a really good point towards the end of the video, growing up and all throughout my twenties I was a real obese heavy set guy. Now I'm 40 and I'm starting to have a physique that more resembles Ryan. One of the biggest things I've unknowingly did is just remove all the trash from the house. If you don't have junk food laying around you're not going to eat it. As much as it sucks I just stock my kitchen refrigerator and pantry with whole foods, whole grains, lean proteins. Basically stuff that you have to get up and cook. And when you do overindulge you're overindulging in salads, beans, tuna stuff that's good for you.
