Lou once said that the best job in the whole world was playing rhythm guitar in a rock band. He really rocked on this day. I saw him that same year in Montreal. He claimed he wouldn't play "that song" which made him nearly a household name. So what did he sneak into the set? "That song". He is missed.

Lou never was mainstream. Though he made a lot of milestones in the 60s and 70s. And this wonderful "Berlin" DVD in 2006. A lot of people only know "Walk on the wild side" and maybe "Perfect day". No problem with that. Lou was the man

I was glued to the TV that day. Lou was the whole reason I watched. I taped the entire concert. Then a week later my sister recorded her fuckin soaps over the concert.

Just doesn't have the magic without Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner lashing out solos. I guess that's why Reed fired them, they stole the spotlight from him.
