Oh, Louie. Found out he just died today. He was so great and, as others have said, did not get the admiration and fame he deserved.
@Dunz0Washington

Yes he did he was huge.. He had multiple TV shows, sold out arenas for HBO specials.. Won awards.. Just because he got old and did less doesn't mean he didn't have fans and admiration.. Just because he was popular before your time doesn't mean you can go around saying that diminishing his achievements.

@@Dunz0Washington He was not "popular before my time." I'm 61. I live in Minneapolis. I was a fan when his career first took off. Which started in Minneapolis. Also, your reply makes no sense to me. I was not diminishing his achievements. No idea where you got that impression.

This is my favorite stand-up comedy routine of all time! I remember watching it with my mom when I was a kid; she had taped it on VHS and we watched it dozens of times. For decades, Louie's jokes were running jokes in our family. Like, "Cindy, I'm swamped!" any time we were slightly inconvenienced. And "LIFE... Live it" among sooo many others. My mom bought his book of letters to his father. I read it as a teenager and cried. Louie Anderson was one of a kind. God bless him. I'll miss him. ❤

If a comedian can make you laugh without cussing and swearing (which is rare) You've got a talent. Louie is that guy. And a true gentleman. When I was younger I used to work on Crescent Heights and Sunset in Hollywood at a pizza restaurant delivering pizzas. And Louie would call in. And I would make my delivery to his place. Every time he gave me a great tip, and was a gentleman. I'll never forget that. It seems like the people who were brought into money were the assholes....And the ones who struggled and made it big were always the generous ones. Thank you Louie

A masterful performer as well as keen observer and interpreter of human behavior through the lens of comedy. Pure gold.

So sad to see this underrated comic leave our presence under such terrible circumstances. Im was so sad and this special definitely helped bring me out of my funk. God bless Louie Anderson and those he left behind.
