@@josephs.3372 Well, this is gonna seem like a long explanation [unless you get it halfway through or something, and this isn't polished or anything, this is a straight off the dome, freestyle explanation, just for you] and it night even make the joke unfunny for people that do get it...but, just for you, I'll explain: Picture that Gay Guy in this Video's gay ancestors or ancestor or whatever, jist picture in your mind someone that looks exactly like him, okay? But like, back during the Salem Witch times or something, y'know back when burning people to death over stupid/mostly personal shit was normal, they would cheer on the burnings, and make jokes with everybody about whoever they burning for whatever reason, and drink or whatever they did back then, y'know, then they would go back behind closed doors and still be gay, and have gay sex with other gays, right? [Okay now, I really need you all to understand that this is a *joke* for this next part.] Now, let's say that his gay ancestor's, gay lover was discovered as being gay, and they wanted to burn them in front of everyone, like they normally do, then his gay ancestor would probably be like: "Oh no. I don't want to be burned at the stake out there." Right? His gay ancestor would then be out there while they were burning their gay lover, doing their normal routine, and saying stuff like: "Hey look at that faggot up there! What a faggot!" and other people in their immediate vicinity were probably chortling and shit like: "Ohohohoho I get it now. At first I didn't get it but, you're saying that ol' Giles is all tied up and burning on top of those faggots, so he's a faggot, right?" and all kinds of shit [maybe they even invented the use of the word, who really knows?] and they hit it off with everyone, they're gaining more notoriety/popularity with those around them. Plus, it wasn't even the first time that's happened to them either...there were others that they were involved with romantically that in some way or another got caught and then subsequently burned at the stake.

This scene is beautiful. The friction between the homophobe and the gay, the curiosity of straight men about gay culture, the constant jokes flowing in every direction. Most honest scene in television in a long time. Nick D's point of view against a gay person but at the end of the day they are all still friends because of who they are as people, not because of who they fuck. If I'm grossed out by gay sex (two men, lesbians are a different story) then I should be able to express myself without being crucified, as long as I'm not crucifying anyone else with my words.
@Tcheera
10 жыл бұрын
common101sense Although, I've always wondered (like the contrast with gay men who often just leave straight people alone and like in the scene, "Look, I just don't think about it."), why so many straight men feel the compulsive need to think about, and comment on, gay sex constantly often with that douchey comment about faux lesbian sex-- god it's so played out. Most of the time it's not even brought up -- for instance a lot of the time we're just talking about equality and gay marriage, but of course instantly some straight wanker's mind starts going to and he starts spouting off about gay sex -- no one's making you think about or asking you to give your opinion about it. And really no one gives a fuck what your opinion about gay sex is any more than you probably give a fuck what someone else's opinion is about the sex you have is. I bet you probably suck at it, and I'm not interested in your sex either -- are you interested in hearing my opinion about your lame straight sex? I bet you aren't.
@Tcheera

I was giving you an example of an opinion you might not want to hear -- and look at how upset you got? Here's the worlds smallest violin. Guess what... that's exactly how gay people feel about your dumbass opinion. Learn some empathy.
@Tcheera
10 жыл бұрын
Hypocrite. Look at you getting all whiny and butt-hurt about a comment. Dishing it but can't take it. You do have thin skin. And I'm not fat, nor am I ugly, nor am I a lesbian. I just find your comments laughable, and you laughable ... the fact that you think everyone cares about your opinion. My point is no one gives a shit about your self-entitled opinion about their sex lives... but the second you hear something about your lame-ass straight sex, you get all defensive and whiny. You don't get it both ways. I stand by my comments, and I think the reason you're so defensive is because it hit too close to home. You probably can't please a woman... so yeah, I would be more interested in lesbian sex than with some disgusting sorry excuse for a man like you, who probably thinks that those fake moans are an orgasm, ha! Oh wait, you probably can't even get a woman to bother that much with you. See... this is MY opinion... on YOUR useless sex life, which is probably sub-par at best. And, I'm sure you look incredibly gross having sex too. That's right, not straight sex, but you having sex grosses me out. Eww. Even the mere insinuation that you might... nasty. So do us all a favor and stop. We'd all rather see lesbian sex than you, in fact, you're probably the biggest predictor of lesbian sex, because after sex with you women probably flee and switch sides. So you're right. Some men really are gross. You've convinced me. Men like you shouldn't be having sex.

I love how comedians have their own community where they hang out, play poker, and drink together. This is true for comedians all over.

Louis has a way of making us laugh and making us think. This is the best example of that. Louis is less a comic and more a wise man. He's a prophet of some kind.

This sketch is a great way to introduce people to the concept of how words don't necessarily mean just what the speaker intends them to mean. I've forwarded this link several times in several discussions. Thanks for putting this up. (and thanks for making it. I love your show.)

I know the words to this clip I've seen it so many times, and I still crack up every time I see it. A fucking dick diamond? Jesus-- Louis CK may be the greatest comedian of the 2000's.

I love this style of writing, because it feels so natural when you watch it and could imaging it as a real conversation you could have with your friends. And I also didn't know were the word faggot came from, so kudos to you!

When I first watched Louis CK a few years ago, to be honest, I wasn't a fan. As I got older, I started to find Louis much more funny! One of the only comics that actually get more funny as they get older.

Driss Ler I find him depressing as he gets older. He's become more of nagging old man, feel like he's always coming from "i'm high and mighty cuz i Dont' give a damn" sort of attitude, just no connection there. BUT CK is more of a i'm one of you miserable people kinda fella, that's why he's more funny.

Enkhee B Well to each one his kind of humor, I personally loved Carlin's late shows, as he went from being a "classic" humourist to creating a very unique style of humor, where he criticizes the established society in his own way (i'm pretty sure he inspired a lot of humorists). The "nagging old man" thing is nothing but a character, as is Ck's "miserable guy", to each one his style, though i think Carlin is a legend, and i believe Ck will be, just not yet.

Driss Ler Hey you might be right. I'll try to see the nagging old man as a character and try to enjoy one of Carlin's standups. Maybe it'll be different, any recommendations? But truth be told I love CK's miserable guy and I really do think deep bottom he is the character.

Wow. What an elevated conversation, mixed with great compassion and fall-out-of-the-chair humor. I never knew where that word came from. Good to know the history. I miss the Louie show!
