I agree that his band, in all its various forms, was really astounding and currently underrated . I’m glad you enjoyed the music!

The hits keep coming. What another great record! There are lots of great arranged touches here, but Napoleon's playing is especially hot and sweet for me. His last solo chorus is a telling example of jazz paraphrase; he stays close to the melody but really makes it his own in an exciting way. I'm sorry to be a chatterbox on this channel with my comments, but there's lots of great music to keep track of!

@@ajSammut123 Don’t apologize, please, the whole point behind sharing this great music is to hear positive responses and share the excitement of these long-gone performers! I agree with your analysis - I’m always astonished to find “out-of-the-way” excellent performances and arrangements on these “dime store” “cheap” records when they do survive somewhat intact. The manufacturers of these labels (I suspect) had no intention of creating great art, they just wanted to make a quick buck. And yet, here we are, 100 years later, hearing this great music. I think that’s amazing! 🙂 Thanks again for your kind words!

This music is much better than anything else today. That's why there's interest in it.@@MatthewDLDavidson
