"Candybar Express", released in 1986, was the first single from the Scottish rock/funk band Love and Money. The song was the lead-in single for the band's debut album, "All You Need Is...".
Written by the band's singer James Grant and produced by Andy Taylor (Duran Duran, Power Station), "Candybar Express" made it to the Top 10 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, where it reached #10. The song also reached #56 in the UK and #96 in Australia.
FTR, Love and Money did have one single crossover to the Billboard Pop chart. In 1988, the band released "Halleluiah Man" from their second album, " Strange Kind Of Love". The song reached #75 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #74 on the Cash Box Top 100. It missed the Top 40 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, where it stalled at #44.
