First you gotta define love. It is everything else that is not enough for marriage to survive without love. Love is selfless, patient, forgiving, love is God. We just define love the wrong way and make poor choices. Love is not the butterflies in the stomach nor the attraction. Those fade. ( just my personal opinion ).

Your definition of love is from a christian view: What the bible says. Not everyone knows rhe bible but evryone says i love you in a relationship. So i kept asking myself: what do people mean by "i love you". I dont use that word. If you will use it for me, you have to tell me what you mean
@fab_floo6737

@@mayowaoyedokun9828 fair point. Bottom line is, everything depends on the kind of love one is seeking because true/real love, even taken out of the realm of religion is far beyond, lust, physical attraction or Eros (erotic or deep attraction). Once we are able to make the nuance, then we can decide on the kind of “love” we are willing to give and get in return. To love something is to first off, come to accept it, then with acceptance come tolerance which works hand in hand with commitment. The problem is, we aren’t really seeking to know what love is. For me, love is WORK. The idea of spending a lifetime with someone should be frightening for all involved, and maybe perhaps we can take it more seriously.

@@fab_floo6737 its a big work.like i will tell my ex, dont expect to understand automatically, why you do what you do or handlr things in a particular way because i didnt grow up with you and my parents werent thinking of you when they raised me. So the truth si we need time to understand each other and that acceptance is the basis of it. I kept wondering how will two people who have lived at least two decades apart suddenly meet and say we have fallen in loveand we want to marry, just like that😁. The history,baggages, the expectations, etc. Marriage is real work

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." Love by this definition is certainly enough if both parties model it as described. But most people equate love to the feeling rather than the commitment captured by this definition.

Of course most mature adults understands exactly what she was saying...... Love is never enough in marriage. What you call Love on it's own cannot survive. It is the other 'variables' that make love what it is sweet or sour. Don't ever make that mistake to ever think that 'love' will see u through marriage. It won't. But this message is usually not understood until you're inside. For instance if you hear that a marriage lasted 50yrs, it's bcos one person decided to be selfless (the fall guy) of that marriage. Takes all the crap. If you think that a woman will continue to love and respect you during difficult financial struggle, you're dreaming. No woman will love you under pressure of hunger and lack. So it is the variables surounding love.....finance, respect, good home, security, good health etc that make love blossom.

Always remember your value as a woman it says a lot about you . Your mental state is very important and don’t let anyone take that a way from you.. ‘she was spot on saying “what will people say or do” it’s the aftermath.. settling your marital situation on social media will not help you in a long term and people will always hold you accountable for what you publish. @@orimidaraolusola569 the reason why it is unconditional makes it perfect! Like the way God loves us.. His loves makes us feel much awareness of the good in us. It erases all the lies and seeks the truth out of us

In fact, many couples do not understand the meaning of LOVE. Forget the philosophist, psychologist, professor and other theories' definition of LOVE. The LOVE in marital life is GOD. God establishes marriage and builds it around HIMSELF (LOVE). An in-depth knowledge of what LOVE is will help to strengthen and empower our marital lives. Love is like Christmas Hamper and each of the ingredients (butter, wine, groundnut, honey, fruit juice, biscuits, chocolate etc.) in it are the features/attributes of LOVE. If one of these features/attributes is missing, it is appropriate for the couple to fill in the gap by searching for it. Butter may be Understanding Honey may be Communication Sugar may be an Accommodation Fruit Juice may be Empathy Groundnut may be an Assistance Biscuits may be Forgiveness etc.
