I’ve watched her grow up so she’s basically like a niece/younger sister to me (I’m an only child) she’s always really liked me from the times that she was little and she likes hanging out with me when she comes to our house. I feel bad because sometimes I’m in a bad mood and it’s hard to meet her energy, but I try to engage with her just because I see myself in her and I know how she feels. It also feels good to do nice things for her knowing they’ll make her happy, like just the other day I payed for a little app on her phone bc it was just a couple bucks but I knew it would bring her hours of joy

With time those signs of affection started to lose meaning for me, I'm no longer have problems with physical contact, but I still don't understand why do we have to be "nice" with people we don't care about.
