Lisa X has a collaboration up with Yoyoka, who may turn into the best drummer on the scene too. It's wonderful to see that the pipeline of talent keeps delivering! There are also lots of mixed =gender groups like MergingMoon which I didn't mention...

Good review and reaction man, they are inspired from 80s heavy metal/power metal. If you like band like Helloween, Angra, Stratovarius, Judas Priest, Metalica you will probably love their songs because Lovebites is like a mix of bands I mentioned. Their live called "Five Of A Kind" just mind blowing. Recommended songs for new listener check out : Holy War, Swan Song, Thunder Vengeance, Shadowmaker(from the same concert) little information : - Their name was inspired from Halestorm song "Love Bites" - They won the Metal hammer Golden Gods 2018 in the "Best New Band" Category - Has toured with Dragonforce last year (UK tour) - Become the first (Japanese) female band to appear on Wacken, Graspop Metal and Bloodstock - The people who work on Lovebites audio(mastering) are the same people who work on Nightwish, Stratovarius, Children Of Bodom

Great reaction! There are plenty of great bands from the Japanese Rock/Metal scene. Lovebites though, they aren't just "good from Japan" they're one of the best metal bands in the world today. They play a wide variety of different styles. Pick any song really, just make sure its LIVE and NOT from Bloodstock (bad audio mix in that show). Thunder Vengeance, Holy War, Scream for Me, Hammer of Wrath, Raise Some Hell, Swan Song, Epilogue all Live, but they have many more. Haruna is a freaking monster in every song, always great drum work! Stay safe!

Yeah finally welcome to the Lovebites club. Great reaction thanks mate. Lovebites are formed in Tokyo 2016 from ex Destrose band members Miho the bassist and composer and Haruna the drummer. The other members are Asami the vocalist and songwriter, Midori the lead guitarist and backing vocals (she is with the blonde hair ) and Miyako the other lead guitarist and pianist and composer. You just sow the winners of 2018 year in category for best new metal band. Their last album Electric pentagram is nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year. They are influenced by 80s metal. And Lovebites are the best all female power metal band in the world at the moment. You want to see how they running on the stage just check the song Rise some hell. Also i want to recommend the songs Thunder vengeance, Holly war, Dancing with the devil, Swan song, Shadowmaker, Break the wall, Hammer of wrath, We the United, Burden of time, Liar, the songs are from their last concert Five of kind in Zepp Diversity Tokyo from this year. And not in the last place the song Epilogue from their previous concert Daughters of the down from 2019 in Tokyo. And one more thing they always play on the high heels. Can you tell me how many bands you know or sow to playing on the high heels. Enjoy it and stay metal.

They do use the stage more in other songs, but this is not really a song that is suited to them being all over the place. I don't mind them just staying where they are because they perform brilliantly. Most rock or metal bands have their members "fixed" to certain places on the stage and you don't see them running around either, so I'm not sure why people think it's unusual that Lovebites don't do it much. Anyway, they don't have a single bad song, so enjoy the ride. Go for their pro shot videos from Tokyo in 2019 and 2020 if possible, as they are by far the best quality videos. It doesn't really matter which song you pick, you can't go wrong!

Thank you for promoting LOVEBITES. All 40+ songs invite repeat listening. So grateful for your recognition of Haruna's perfect drumming. Relentless. This, the 18th song of the show, 90 minutes already pummeled; stops, fills, transitions, accents, timing & tempo changes, always precise; they ride a moving-platform of Miho's bass-lines locked with Haruna's dbl-kicks, like jumping on a moving train. An ensemble, "Five of a Kind" artistically portrayed in the concert intro to Thunder Vengeance. Now you've heard ballad/progressive/power-metal, in one song, hold on for sophisticated, elegant, eclectic, powerful METAL with honest and encouraging lyrics, by beautiful women. To get an idea of the energy-level maintained in concert, this show's set-list: 1. 'Slayer-inspired' thrash, "Thunder Vengeance": kzitem.info/news/bejne/2o17nYSnfKJ4nGk Followed by "Holy War" (link in Aratha Sena's comment) Amazing solos & vocals. 3. "Don't Bite The Dust" next, (but from 2019 show): kzitem.info/news/bejne/kq-k1Ix6n3efoY4 which ends with starting beat/note of "Rising": kzitem.info/news/bejne/wJt_0ayee4x6noI (Rising is my daughter's favorite!) I don't think LOVEBITES are properly understood by one or two songs widely spaced in time. They are a FORCE of NATURE using minimal technology to create a meaningful experience. An experience I share with my children

Just for a little context: this is the second song of the encore of a nearly 2-hour concert, packed between two bangers: The Hammer of Wrath kzitem.info/news/bejne/tGms0KaMrXOnrXo and We the United kzitem.info/news/bejne/pW9-36GtkIukh4Y. Seems like they just take it back a little to give themselves and the audience a little time to breathe before the grand finale. They have a lot of songs that are very fast and technical, and they use their pedal boards a lot. That may seem a little static in some songs, but they have enough songs that let them run move around and show of a little. I can wholeheartedly recommend the complete concert DVD of FIVE OF A KIND. It is a perfectly crafted masterpiece. Well this band is insanely talented and you started with one of their SOFTEST songs so here are a few songs to get you started on the power metal side: Scream for Me (kzitem.info/news/bejne/moWdmpusjIeedqQ) Raise Some Hell (kzitem.info/news/bejne/sqNjma6efHiYm5w) Empty Daydream (kzitem.info/news/bejne/zY6examDhmtlnYo) piano mixed in with a great power ballad. This band was started by Miho/bass and Haruna/drums who came over from the great Destrose all female band and wanted more of a European metal sound. Take 80's metal (Iron Maiden/Judas Priest, etc..) and mix in some Dragon Force (who they toured with) and bring it to a new level with a bluesy vocalist who sings in English and you have this awesome band. So many great all female bands try Band Maid Freedom (kzitem.info/news/bejne/p36m23mnhnOUd5w) the best Rock Band with insanely talented musicians. Then you have Mary's Blood, Aldious, Show-Ya, Scandal, Fate Gear, etc.... too many to mention!!!

Not sure what list you watched, most are commercial and J-Pop, not that there aren't good ones, but still ... After 5 songs I self proclaimed Lovebites as currently best band out there. Other songs: Epilogue (ballad, but a must watch), Edge of the World, Signs of Deliverance (dual guitar overhand tapping), Thunder Vengeance, Holy War and well, any song from their three albums is just darn good to epic. Many are surprised by all female band, but Japan has over 50 of them that are worth a watch. Here are some to mention: BandMaid, Scandal (more rock/punk), Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Aldious, Doll$box/Gacharic Spin just a few all female bands. Some mixed: BabyMetal, Unlucky Morpheus, Wagakki Band, Asterism (instrumental) and of course many, many more. You might even like to venture into Visual Kei.

Three further excellent Japanese Bands: Band Maid, predominantly rock. Try Real Existence: kzitem.info/news/bejne/moqhrqSsmoFhbJg This is a fairly early MV but is a good example for you. BabyMetal: a bizarre mix of girls fronting a heavy metal band who have absolutely brilliant metal songs in their catalogue and sell out stadiums worldwide. Try Headbanger: kzitem.info/news/bejne/uqCgvY6mn5Gbhqg Wagakki Band, traditional Japanese instruments fused with guitars, bass and drums playing rock. The lead singer mixes in traditional Japanese singing into the songs. I think they are the best metal band these days. They hit on all elements of metal that I love, from 80s style heavy metal to power metal to thrash and some progressive. They are master musicians and are also great songwriters and lyricists. Their transition is some of the best I have ever seen and yes, that is a very bold statement. Yeah. The reason why Edge of the world, Epilogue and Under the red sky are my favorites, is because the song writing is so amazing in those. I recommend sticking to Aratha Sena's list of songs. There is plenty more to find from youtube, but make sure you find them from 2019+ concerts. Older ones, like Bloodstock are very bad quality. From Aratha list you will find good "divercity" of styles they do ;)

Hello!! Oh my😊... (btw☝️. I wrote this before your summary so you see we share a lot of same thoughts😂) I have to admit that I wasn't SO excited when I saw this will be Japanese band🤔... Don't understand me wrong but so far I haven't been SO impressed of any Japanese metal bands I've ran into😅... Not the music itself but many times the singing has been a bit....🤔...silly.... (not a right word🤔 but little bit weird to my ears atleast) with their unique tone😅.... But how wrong was I🤗... Already the beautiful beginning was very nice with that cool pianomelody and DAMN that high note and I loved how the audience cheered on that👏... Definetily deserved😅... Very cool changes through the song and by this song I've now idea what their genre is😂😂... It was like a medley of SO many songs and many times I had a thought that I've heard this before😅... It kinda looked a bit weird that they wore white dresses and played metal standing perfectly still but in the same time very refreshing and I really liked it and it gave great extra attitude to the performance😅... Maybe musically still not fully my thing to be added this on to my playlist but very nice guitars and nice song and great performance still☝️👏 Thanks, catch you later👍

They sing in English and play the Eurpopean and NWOBHM style and sound because that is their target audience, not typical of a Japanese metal band.
