Our dearest friends are both airline pilots with the same airline. They have two young children and are our hero's. We love them both and as "older" folks, we are amazed at how they can be both professional airline pilots and parents. One evening babysitting our grandson and we're exhausted. :-)

What I don't get is while the captain have her control stick on the left hand side! the co-pilot side control stick is on the right side! won't that just be a waste of time/extra training when the co-pilot move to the left seat! to train your left hand that your right hand probably been doing for month/yrs!?
@hepdepaddel
Күн бұрын
Can‘t say for an Airbus, as I‘m not a professional pilot. But probably that‘s just a bit of training. You do not think about the stick, but the plane. I only fly gliders and light aircraft. When I started flying the latter, left hand on the stick, it took a short while to get used to it (gliders are flown with the right hand). But now I can fly both plane types with both hands (except take-offs and landings, where you need to use the „correct“ hand to be able to operate the other controls. I guess you can steer your car single-handed with both the left and the right hand? European and British cars (left/right)? It‘s quite the same thing, I guess.
