I know a lot of people complain about the length of the video. Personally, I don't even look at the length. I just start watching. He explains things SO well. Also, I like that he gives a lot of "what I like to do is..." comments. I'm an artist, but somewhat new to the digital side of things. So it's great to have videos like this where someone is taking on the role of an instructor. It's one thing to quickly run through a poly tutorial, but it's another for someone like Nate to take the time to explain every click and WHY he's doing it. You don't get that from a lot of other tutorial videos. Much love, Nate! Thanks for the tutvids!

A hint for selecting, like in the ground is to fill all the ground polys with a random non-green color first. Then you can just click inside each triangle without having to hunt for edges.

@@someyoutubechannel9309 direct translation would be "kamusta". but thanks for correcting because "namoo" is almost equivalent to a Filipino bad word (referring to: "tang iNA MO", not saying it to you). which is extremely rude depending on how you say it and who you are saying it to.

@sandraodenthal9914
Жыл бұрын
Hi, I have tried out a few if your tutorials, and thus far, everything has worked out for me. In this one, however, I have hit a snag and have no idea what the problem is. I am at minute 21:05 of the video, where you had just sent the canopy top of the tree to the back with the gradient in place. When I then go to "object" - "expand", and hit ok, my canopy just up and dissapears. I tried doing all the steps again, from making all the triangles one big shape, to giving it the gradient and so forth, and again, it dissapears when I go to expand.
@sandraodenthal9914
Жыл бұрын
Okay, so I went back and did the whole top part of the tree again with all the triangles, and then went all the way to the part where you have to expand that, and this time it worked. No idea what was wrong with the first try.
@DubstepEasyMusic

I really do not know why but whenever I choose "Specify" I just cant get the single color to my selected object it always goes for gradient... I ve spent like 1 hour of trying to figure out where I was doing a mistake, then I ve tried "Gradient Mesh" and it finally worked out

You have to make two copies of the triangles, paste one in front, fill the gradiant color in. Then you push the gradiant one all the way to the back, then you should lock it. Then you can fill each one with the eye dropper tool because the triangles are still in front.
