I don't think the trash on beaches or parks by the sea/lake is uniquely Singapore. I live in Canada, and I see lots of trash that people leave behind on the beach and parks even though there are trash bins easily within reach...and it's at every park lining Lake Ontario, and Lake Ontario is huge if you know your geography. It is pretty disgusting. There is a guy doing a cross Canada walk which he termed Million bottle pledge, picking up million dollars worth of trash bottles and cans on roads and highways for recycling and to bring awareness to how much trash is thrown onto roads and highways. The amount of trash he collected at each stretch of his travel is horrifying.

@AsiaHikelopedia
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chloe, You seem to have misunderstood me. I said Singapore's population is well-educated and so I was surprised to see so much litter left around in parks when I walk along the coast early in the morning. I did not say educated people throw trash on beaches, nor did I blame Singaporeans for the trash on Sisters Island, in fact I specifically said that most of it comes from neighbouring countries. My country does indeed have the same problem, and is probably even worse than Singapore. Which is a real shame. As for the chicken bone, I'll admit it was a bad look and in hindsight I shouldn't have done it. But I will add what I told another viewer who questioned me on that. It was for dramatic effect and I picked it up later. All my bones went in the bin! You'll also be pleased to know that in my five years plus in Singapore I have never once littered, and in fact I often pick up other peoples litter as I explore the island. I hope this explanation helps! Richard
