Awesome boat i just bought a used 14 48 crestliner with a 20hp Honda. I'm on the Richiboucto striper spawn started this week haven't had a bite since last Saturday. Subbed you up both have about the same amount of subs I love finding other NBers. I like your logo there is a cottage on our river with close to the same sing the family name is Crowhurst.

TF-Thank you kindly. Nice little rig you have and you can't go wrong with a Honda. The logo and name comes from my time in the military, no relation to the cottage on your river. Really appreciate the sub and be sure to share.

How rough of water can you travel in before you would consider it dangerous?
@MasterCrowOutdoors
2 жыл бұрын
This rig is definitely not built to handle the rougher weather with it's flat bottom and relatively low gunnels. Saying that, I've been out in 3 foot swells with winds gusting to 35 mph. It wasn't a very comfortable ride and I typically wait for better weather!
@davidh6396
2 жыл бұрын
@@MasterCrowOutdoors Hahah I can imagine. I typically get into some 3's a few times a year and in my current 16' rig it can get pretty sketchy. I'm looking for something that can go shallow yet handle rough water occasionly. I don't care if I have to ride in slow as long as I feel fairly safe.
@MasterCrowOutdoors
2 жыл бұрын
@@davidh6396 That's what I was looking for as well and the 20 footer gave me the highest gunnels along with the flat bottom (12 degree deadrise). It's a big boat, but at the time the whole family and the dog were coming out with me. I also looked at Prince Crafts, which weren't jon boats, but had a flatter bottom, high gunnels and a vee bow. Good luck!

Glad someone asked u to make a video of the “master crow”. I’ve always wanted the tour..love the boat and layout.my dream is a 16’ roughneck was thinking center console but the side may be better especially traveling from front to back .any thoughts...great channel..time to fish I think.👍
@MasterCrowOutdoors

AR-16' is a great size for a couple guys. I would highly recommend a 1660 SC. The wider beam really makes a difference in the available space. The side console takes up less space and like you mentioned, allows for easier movement. Went through the same questions when choosing my layout and never regretted it. Friends who choose the center console did. I'd also put on a 40hp fourstroke. More if you like speed and spending money on gas. Anything less and it will strain when your loaded. Appreciate the comments and tight lines brother!

Great rig and set up. Can you tell me what type of Scotty mounts you used on your gunnels for your rod holder? I recently bought an aluminum fishing boat and am having trouble finding mounts. Thanks
@MasterCrowOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
DA-Thank you kindly, appreciate the comment. The rod holders are Scotty Power Locks. The Scotty Orca's also fit the same mount. In order to mount them to the gunnels I had 1/4" aluminum u channel welded on to have a flat solid surface. A lot of guys aren't fans of plastic and another good option is the Down East Rod holder. (Not the clamp on option though!)

OSH-Yup, couldn't figure out what happened as I've never had an issue with the rod holders before. Then the partner confessed that he had his drag locked down tight. If the rod holder was metal the rod would have shattered! Guess who backs off his drag now...well at least when he's in my boat!

Sir, I noticed you attached eye bolts up front. I'm assuming you utilize these in lieu of cleats? If so, how is that working out? I just ordered a couple of stainless collapsible cleats but always looking for ways to trim expenses. Also, did that ladder come stock on your boat? I'm looking for one that mounts like that and cannot find one.
@MasterCrowOutdoors
3 жыл бұрын
The stainless eyebolts are used for anchoring a DIY sunshade. kzitem.info/news/bejne/qJBrsWaAn6ZjiJw They have a large aluminum plate behind them, so could certainly be used as tie off points. The ladder wasn't stock. Picked it up from Bass Pro 10 years ago and has held up very well.

@@MasterCrowOutdoors You're the first person I've seen who has done this with a patio umbrella besides myself! On our pontoon, I took one of our round pedestal tables, drilled out the center and run the umbrella rod all the way down the pipe to the floor. It's a must have in the hot Alabama summers.
