Berberine and a strict ketogenic/ carnivourish diet helped me reverse type 2 diabetes in 6 weeks. In Jan of 2023 I was getting blurry vision and was always thirsty and peeing alot. I knew these were the signs of high blood suger so I checked my levels with a finger prick test. My level was 9 and it didn't come down. It should have been in the 5's. I immediately fasted , ate a ketogenic diet and went on berberine , chromium, l carnitine and b vitamins. I also got a CGM to continuously monitor my glucose. It actually took only a few weeks to normalize my blood suger but it took about 6 weeks to have a normal suger/ insulin spike. I periodically tested myself with a bolus of carbs and my glucose spiked, then came right down and remained stable. I had restored my insulin sensitivity. Berberine will also upregulate glut4 transporters in the liver and restore insulin sensitivity and down regulate liver excessive gluconeogenesis. (That arises from insulin resistence)

How much Berberine did you take?
@Keithzzzzt

@@smendoza7233 just 1500mgs a day in divided doses. 500 mgs 3x a day. I also took high dose b vitamins, specifically b 1 , b3 , b6 and a b complex, chromium , l carnitine and I tool black seed oil to support the pancreas. But berberine was the secret sauce , imho. THE key ingredient. Also ruthlessly low carb with mct oil throughout the day. No insulin spikes but high energy.

What I like about your presentations is that you list all of these different factors that I've learned elsewhere (usually other youtube channels), and THEN you go over the trade-offs and don't talk as if a supplement is a magical cure. "There are no solutions. There are only trade-offs." - Thomas Sowell My favorite part was how you discussed dihydro berberine as being equally effective as berberine HCl. That's tremendously valuable information.

It's amazing. I've been using it because my feet hurt so bad and I learned about it from someone I've been listening to on utube now for well over 6 years. Whole on my healthy Keto journey I started to regress to my old ways of eating until I was no longer eating healthy. Well bigistake diebetis came roaring in. I did not want to give in to running to meds. Thankfully I learned about berberine and I use cinnamon everyday and have Kale shake Wholla! Pain gone sugar pretty much back to were it should be. I eat raw organic vegetables for over ninety percent of average days meal - fruit makes up most the rest. I know diet like this is best option - my drug, lowered insulin over 44% and insulin sensitivity over 44% so despite me diet, I still had to supplement. Chromium sulphate chemical grade (insulin/mimetic) Vanadium sulphate (insulin sensitivity) This is how to reverse type 2 Type 1 is different.

I was diagnosed with Poly Neuropathy and Fibromyalgia. The doctors have said it's caused by a nerve being compressed in between two disks in my lower back. They said that surgery wouldn't help I suffer with nerve pain in my legs and feet. I have high blood pressure and was told that the left side wall of my heart was damaged from high blood pressure. Would this be safe for me to take?
@NerveDoctors
7 ай бұрын
Yes, not only would it be safe but it would be extremely beneficial for you. There are an abundance of studies on berberine and the benefits to the cardiovascular system. In this video, I talk about how it stops cardiac muscle scarring post infarct and from ischemia. Now, let's address your polyneuropathy. First of all a nerve root compression from two disc in your spine RARELY cause a polyneuropathy. Meaning you're not going to have equal symptoms on both legs/feet unless the compression to the nerve is on both sides. That can happen but is less likely. Most compressions are unilateral. You may want to get clarification on that. If you do have nerve root compression, you want to seek out a qualified chiropractor that has experience with Non-Surgical Spinal decompression. Next, your fibromyalgia. I've dealt with many, many cases of fibromyalgia and the root cause is always the same. It's from leaky gut and severe microbiota dysbiosis. It would be beneficial for you to seek out a functional medicine doctor, with experience in fibromyalgia to help you reverse this condition and yes, it's completely reversible. Here's a link to find someone in your area: www.ifm.org/find-a-practitioner/

It’s my understanding that as you lower your blood sugar your insulin production also lowers. Insulin is a fat storing hormone. Most DR don’t test for fasting insulin which tells you how hard your pancreas is working to lower blood sugar by producing more insulin. Dr Ben Bickman is a research professor at BYU and has many lectures/interviews to explain better. I hope it helps.

Thank you doctor. I was diagnosed of Peripheral Neuropathy, but am not diabetic (as doctor said it was caused by the trauma i had when my wife had miscarriage ); but my sugar level has not been stable - sometimes it gets to 107 (fasting blood sugar), though when I notice a spike, I ensure I do intermittent fasting (of about 16-18hrs) the next day. But the intermittent fasting is giving me a lot of problem because am Ulcer patient. From the look of things, it seems am having Insulin resistance, as medical practitioner once told me....kindly advice on what to take to make my sugar level stable (avoid going up without me doing intermittent). For the Neuropathy - I have been on Pregabalin and B Vitamins for months. But yesterday, doctor advice I hold on with Pregabalin for 2 months while I take Nucleo C.M.P Forte with the B Vitamins. Also, my cholesterol has not been stable; checked it 5 weeks ago, and my HDL was 5 while LDL was 148, Triglyceride 98. Placed me on Omega 3 fatty acid after taking statin for 5 days. For arthritis, I was placed on Boneflex but am not seeing much changes.

Hi Doc. If my blood pressure is already normal, will berberine cause my bp to drop too low? Looking forward to your response. Thank you.

No, that's the great thing about berberine, it will lower abnormally high blood pressure but will not drop healthy blood pressure to unsafe levels.

What is the best brand of berberine?
@Keithzzzzt

Don't bother with the ez Expensive di hydro berberine Straight berberine is converted into dihydro berberine in the gut. Any reputable berberine will do.
@NerveDoctors

I never place my patients on Dihydroberberine simply because it's about double the price and regular berberine will get converted in the gut to dihydroberine. The brands that we have the most experience with using for ourselves and are patients are: Pure Encapsulations Berberine Ultrasorb, Thorne Berberine and Mercola Berberine and micro PQQ. Now Mercola does have another berberine called Biothin Berberine with Chromium but I like the first one better simply because it’s a higher dose of berberine per capsule. These are all available on Amazon and You can’t go wrong with any of them.

I saw where you suggested Pure Encapsulations, Mercola, and Thorne brands berberine, but you all should have one of your own made. I'd rather financial support you guys than other companies. Wondering if you could add it to Neuphoria Gold???

What is your diet like? Are you on a low carb diet?
@NerveDoctors
7 ай бұрын
So sorry to hear that. Let me see if I can point you in the right direction. So, the first thing that's important to realize is that berberine isn't a magic pill. If you haven't cut out the carbs or you're not following a healthy diet, you will be hard pressed to find any natural supplement (without dangerous side effects) that will help. The first thing you should do is follow a healthy ketogenic diet. You should also add exercise for 20 minutes or longer 4-5 days per week. Next, make sure you're consuming 2.5 to 3 liters (70 oz-99oz) of filtered water, daily. Also, make sure you're getting adequate sleep each night, at least 7 hours. And lastly, make sure you're not overdoing it with caffeine.

Please be careful if you go on the other. I have a good friend who did and had to come off after only a few mo when he got the stomach paralysis. Thankfully he recovered after two mo of being off but he discovered others that were not so lucky. He has been warning it is a dangerous drug to try. When he had to stop it he went to a carnivore diet and achieved better results than he got even when was taking the ozempoc. Just be very aware if you take ozempoc.
@Keithzzzzt

Don't do it. You need to sort out your carb addictions and insulin problems first . Ozempic can have serious problems . Just eat meat. It takes time for metabolic issues to be resolved. You may need a host of other nutrients as well. Not eating from ozempoc and lack of hunger will not resolve these deficiencies

I want to take this, but I take metoprolol. Apparently berberine changes the way the liver metabolizes metoprolol, and can cause higher amounts to remain in your bloodstream.

How would one recognize the signs to reduce their berberine hclbdosage?
@NerveDoctors
7 ай бұрын
If you get any stomach upset or loose stools, you'd want to decrease your dosage. If your glucose levels drop too low (for instance, let's say your fasting glucose falls below 70, regularly) you'd want to decrease the dose.

Did you read this reply below? @NerveDoctors 1 month ago Hi Ted. I think you're asking what is the best brand to buy? If that's your question, the brands I use for my patients are by Pure Encapsulations, Thorne or Mercola. There are many more on the market that may be just as good, but these are the one's that I have direct experience with. BTW...Both Dr C & I take berberine, daily, prophylactically and we have used all three of these brands and found them to be equally as effective. We never prescribe anything for our patients that we're not willing to put into our own body.

Doc, what other supplement aids body in making berberine?
@NerveDoctors
8 ай бұрын
Great question...so berberine comes from a plant, actually several different plants. The body doesn't make it per se but the microbiota in the gut will help you transform the plant compound known as berberine into a usable source.

Just ordered some 🤞I started about four months ago on Ozempic, couldn’t get it anywhere in Australia after I filled first script, so doc put me on Trulicity, didn’t do much at all😢 My appetite isn’t the issue though, as overeating isn’t me. My weight started with menopause. The cost of Trulicity is ridiculous $175 Aud pm. Stopped it two months ago, I had no idea the side effects were so dangerous, probably better to keep the extra 15 kilos I’ve gained. I’m hoping this will be a better option both physically and financially 😂 Thx for the informative video. Subscribed.

I love your handle! You're very welcome. It's common for perimenopausal and postmenopausal woman to gain weight. It would be in your best interest to see a hormone specialist for bioidentical hormones. Once you get your hormones rebalanced the weight will melt off (considering you're eating healthy and exercising, of course) and you'll feel like a younger version of yourself.
