Use sliders first then tensioners for treatment but to test do tension test first to confirm findings

Great vid. Any tips or videos for neural tension in the hamstrings when there isn't back pain? I can't touch past my knees when trying to touch my toes. All tightness is behind the knee. Would love you guys to make a video on this as you are without a doubt the best on KZitem. Cheers

Hi can somebody tell me if there is a specific glide technique to target what i believe is an adhesion in the butt, feels like around the piriformis area. I cannot get any relief, but I don't have any shooting pain down the leg yet.

Is nerve glides the right way to go when you still have nerve pain 2 years after a L4-L5 disc herniation? My disc should be healed by this time but I still have a lot of nerv pain..

I’m a physio! And just want to say I love your videos! I give them to my clients as part of their home exercises. I have never thought of using tensioner as a nerve glide technique.. but more a slider as a form of neural glide.. so I have a patient who has radicular symptoms down her leg worse with sitting and it’s not extreme pain, but I’ve got her doing sliders first .. should I have given her a tensioner?

Hello, this was very helpful! I'm wondering should either reproduce a patient's symptoms ,what options would there be for management? I'm thinking like education about posture to avoid such symptoms and gradual desensitisation (a minor tension/slide over time so that the nerves can possibly adapt to being stretched/moved?) Any surgical intervention?

You gotta be careful with nerve gliders and tensioners as nerve pain usually shows a delayed reaction of a couple of hours. So start with pain-free sliders and wait for the reaction. Progress to tensioners, but patient should feel slight discomfort at max during the exercises. Which pathology do you want to "manage"? Are you talking about nerve root compression by a herniated disk?

Hi there ! :) For the slump slider/tensioner does the position of the arms matter ? I've heard that when the arms are behind the back it gives more tension. Thank u, love the content ! Greets from France

Hi Liloov, in the original description of the Slump the arms are placed behind the back for standardization purposes in our opinion. Don't think that that necessarily increases tension as neither the dura, nor the brachial plexus are tensioned in this position. Happy that you like our content and best regards from Amsterdam!

Gn...my patient suffer with a lots of numbness in her legs sometimes they so numb she cant feel them. She had a fall last march after the fall she cudnt walk..what is the best video you get send me with exercise that I can do with her to help her..shes getting physio..when her feet is not numb we hold her and will walk ..plus because of the nerve system she cant stand up..after the fall she cudnt use her left side..

If they have shock like pain in lateral part of thigh wil these technique wil work after total hip replacement

Wouldn't be our first choice in hip replacements unless there is a clear deficit or provocation with neurodynamic testing. the hip joint itself can refer pain to the lateral thigh and these neurodynamic techniques are mainly targeting the dura mater and the sciatic nerve.

S1L5 DISECTOMY 4 weeks ago. I am experiencing extreme stiffness as leg raises and Dorsey flex is applied mild symptoms subside at rest numbness on baby and second toe dole and heel... hesitantly trying nerve glides......
