Your van looks fantastic. Not too 'in your face', just clean, keeping it OEM. Well done.

Thanks man! And nah I’m happy with the 60mm springs on OE shocks, coilovers would rattle the bones out of me on the roads I drive on 😂

Love the look, makes me want another caddy.. beware of the crossmember over raised ironworks though. When they hit something solid you will stop dead and set off airbags etc.

Brilliant little vans they are. Ah that don’t sound great, crossmember as in behind the front bumper?

@@tubedarren yeah just in centre line of front wheels, its not a problem if you know about it, you will get the odd knock on the square speed hump things and get used to putting one front wheel over the middle rather than straddling them but the raised manhole covers on a building site will put you through the screen. 2/3mph if you think there any possibility of catching

I'm well into the looks of that. Love those wheels on a T5 and they look great on your caddy. I'm looking to drop my caddy too. I'm thinking the springs are the way to go.

Thanks Stuart, yes I think they are one of the nicest steels VW do. Personally after doing my research springs are the way to go 👍

Hi Darren, do you run a same sized spare wheel? I.e a 17 inch with 225 wide tyre? Just wondering if that still fits in the bracket under the van. Im looking for a set of 17's and want to get a full sized spare but want to make sure it fits under the van
@tubedarren
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob, no I’ve got the original spare as the total wheel and tyre height is the same on the 15’s 195/65/r15 as the 17’s with the 225/45/17 setup (25”). The only different is my wheel bolts need a 19mm socket instead of 17mm so I make sure I keep both on board with 5 original wheel nuts. I hope this helps 👍
@tubedarren
2 жыл бұрын
Also this is the reason I changed all 4 of the 215/60/r17 that come as standard on the GP wheels for 225/45/r17 - so the total wheels/tyre height is the same as the factory 15 steels
