Great video production! Lowry AFB was my favorite assignment during my 20 years of service -- I was assigned there with the 3405 Student Group as a Student Training Advisor from 1982-1986 -- and indeed, Denver was and still is a great city to live in. I tried very hard to "homestead" but the Air Force wouldn't have it and shipped me off to The Philippines instead, where, upon arrival at Clark AB, my new supervisor told me I wasn't really needed there. In 1992, I became a First Sergeant, and even tried to finagle one last assignment to Lowry upon my completion of training in that field, but had to settle for F.E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne, just to be back on the Front Range. How sad it was when Lowry closed in 1994 -- I had so many fond memories of this place and even spent much of my time at Lowry in Bldg. 349 -- in fact the window to my office could be seen in the background of some of your narration. So seeing this production, and learning even more about Lowry's history, makes me proud to have served at this base and in this fine city. Thank you so much for sharing.

I am 76 years old. I was born in Denver in 1945. My parents error raised in San Antonio tx. My father joined the Army Corps of Engineers I think in 1937. My parents lived in Sacramento and moved to Denver in October of 1938. He was a part of the group that began the construction of Lowery I know that her in charge of one of the hangers. I believe it is a museum now. He was in charge of Buckley also. In 1951 or so we went to Lincoln and then months later went to Duluth for 18 months. I was entering the 4 th grade when daddy was sent to Offutt Air Force base to be Resident Engineer for the Strategic Air Command center. Onto Cheyenne Wyoming as he was the Resided Engineer of the silos for the ICBM missiles But daddy got his start at Lowery. He retired in 1961 because of health reasons but the government was going to sent him to Minot ND but my mother said NO ! We are going home to Texas he died in 1994.
