Really useful fact full video. Explained in a Easy to understand way so that anyone can understand it. Brilliant. Thanks. While I'm here I'm going to be cheeky and ask you some questions!! I have a VW camper with under belly tank it supply's my heater, hob, and outside BBQ/GAS PIT point. I assume I only need the one regulator thats fitted in the van and I don't need one on each item. Would I be able to run BBQ/gas pit at the same time off one regulator or do they need separate feeds from the tank and there own regulators. Sorry lots of questions. But I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

What about storing one small butane cartridge for a camp stove inside of a van without drop vents? My thoughts have always been, even if there is a leak it would still stay below where I’m sleeping on the floorboard and in the underfloor storage areas?
@TheMotorhomeMan
11 ай бұрын
If there's a leak you really don't want that gas in the van. Whether it's below where you're sleeping or not it's super dangerous to have this in the van. Generally speaking these camping stoves are pretty safe to store in the van as long as the butane cartridge is disconnected etc

I'm trying to figure out how to run butane in my camper vans propane system I read that butane needs a different regulator I guess because it operates at a different pressure? I'm in the US wanna travel to Latin America where I here propane is only available for commercial use and all the campers use butane

The Motorhome Man , we don’t have a Motorhome at the moment but I’m trying to understand everything I can about Motorhome s. I think we would be looking at a 6 metre one when we do decide to buy. So a look at the smaller motor homes would be good.

Unfortunately there's no such thing as a 'freezing rate'. I think you're referring to the boiling point which refers to how easily the liquid gas will vaporise.

I've no idea why anyone would choose to buy butane over propane in the UK climate. If the outside temperature drops below about 5 degrees C and you require gas at a fairly high rate, to run your heater, for example, then you butane cylinder will struggle to supply it, by the time the outside temperature gets to freezing, you'll get no gas at all. Propane on the other hand, will produce ample gas down to well below any temperature we ever see in the UK. Butane is only good for the summer months, cooking etc, when you don't need large volumes of gas to run your heater. Buy propane and it will always work, whatever the temperature, buy butane and it won't, as soon as the weather cools down.

Hi, thanks for this. My MHome as a yellow Gasflow bottle which I fill at the petrol station through the external filler. Adjacent to the yellow bottle is an Unconnected red Propane bottle, which I use as a spare, should the yellow bottle run out. Two questions please - a copper flare seems to have been attached to the outflow of the yellow bottle as the pig tail going to the bulkhead regulator as a propane threaded bayonet attachment. Is this ok or should I change the pigtail to one that threads straight onto the yellow bottle outlet and discard the copper flare? Secondly, could I use a kit to have automatic switchover from the yellow bottle to the red bottle if the yellow runs out? Thanks!
@TheMotorhomeMan

I would change the pig tail Mark and I would only use the switchover with another gaslow

At 7.15 we saw actual LGP. Everything else had nothing to do with LPG! LPG IS A mix of butane and propane and can be loaded at a station. Butane and propane are refillable bottles. If u use electric hook up you only need gas for cooking so non LPG probably best. LPG better for Europe or off road camping as you’ll use a lot more gas so more cost effective filling up from a station. Your welcome. Ps you do not need a qualified engineer at any point. But it is better if you don’t know what your doing. Ie- correct gas fittings and in some cases purpose bought sealant on new lpg systems if doing it yourself. Checking for leaks etc.
