The difference is that the Lamborghini driver could have been eating a sandwich and texting while racing. Its not a drag car it's meant to go fast comfortably + Handle well. I bet the miata is much more fun and practical though

NippyMoto it has more trunk space, that particular Miata wasn’t lowered so it went through driveways straight, it’s more maneuverable in parking lots and traffic. Miata was good. It kept up with mclarens in canyons too

Weight makes less and less of a difference the faster you're going (moment of inertia). Especially once you factor in flappy-paddle gearboxes, DSG, PDK, etc etc that can out-shift any conventional manual keeping the power applied much more efficiently.

If Lamborghini put its priority in making their cars the quickest it would manufacture sub 2.5 second, 0-60, 250+ MPH vehicles if they wanted to and had the authorization from VW. But it’s a status symbol. You can’t really show off that Miata in Monaco.

You're an utter tool if you think 0-100 time means anything. The handling on tracks is important and that's where they truly excel at. That's why the Bugatti exists (a sub of VW), for that fast 0-100. However it's so boaty that it couldn't compete anywhere really.

Auto transmissions are popular with people who competitively drag race. Increases consistency among a multitude of other benefits. Manual does earn you the street cred though.

To be fair, the Lamborghini is designed to do 200mph comfortably. 140mph in the miata probably feels sketchy as hell. Supercars are usually way overpriced but they are pretty well balanced vehicles that a rich person with no driving skills can just hop in and compete with some of the faster cars out there. I'm sure the miata is much more fun regardless of how sketchy it handles lol

To be honest, the miata has a perfect weight distribution, whereas the Aventador is something like 43/57. That coupled with the fact that you'll almost never hit 200mph outside a drag race, I'd give the edge to the miata.

- If you leave the suspension bone stock I'm sure, but the aftermarket suspension market for miatas is huuuuuuuge. Whatever your (realistic) suspension goal, there are aftermarket parts available to help you achieve them.

lol not even close. Donor car is prob 5K or less. DIY V8 is 10-20K. Turn Key set up is 50K. Or buy a used one ready to go for 10 - 20K!

Yeah that’s cool and all but common sense says by a stock Kseries Honda and slap a turbo on for less than the cost of what his insurance is on the lambo, and it goes faster on less fuel AND you can buy the same car over and over 25 times over before it cost the same as that stock lambo.

Oswaldo Castillo ls3 swap with cts v t56 tranny and rear only weighs 100pounds more then stock powertrain and drivetrain. So 400-500hp on 2100lbs. Physics wins
