just to throw this out their, you should always remove torqued bolts in the opposite way that you torqued them. when you torque, say the heads it causes stretch from the center out. So when you remove the bolts you want to relax that stretch from the outside in. (It's even more important in my old line of work in the aviation field)

On my first LS rebuild, my engine builder did NOT replace the rear oil gallery plug. On the first start I'm waiting for the oil pressure to come up, which it did NOT!! i used an oil filter adapted oil pressure gauge, and nothing!! NO OIL PRESSURE!! Then I made a tool that let me spin the oil pump with the harm balancer off, NOTHING!! So, I called him and told him what's up and asked what he thought. His first question was "Did you install the oil gallery plug?" I said, "What's that?" LOL So he tells me and I told him he didn't give me the plug. He tells me, "Oh, I have it right here!" LMAO, Lesson learned!! I had the honor of removing the transmission, flywheel and rear cover to do the 30 SECOND INSTALL!!! Then, put it all back together.Needless to say, oil pressure popped right up on restart!! Good times, Good times!!! 😂🤣

Do you have any advice on the potential problem that the Ls engines have with lifter failure. I'm in the process of building one and I want to do it right the first time. I have done some research and found that some people say that's it an oiling problem, some say it's an aggressive cam problem, some say it's just faulty equipment. What is your take on the issue

@v.e.7236

I've searched for such a rebuild kit and no luck. Looks like you need to buy a new unit, as the internals wear and need replacing. Not like my old GM oil pump where I can upgrade to a taller gear set and increase volume, along w/ the heavier duty spring for pressure.
