I won't give up, but I feel what you mean. Our defense used to attack and destroy offenses. Keeping them off balance, creating turnovers. Now they react. All that speed and athletic ability not used to the best. The offense is as good as we've ever seen. Kinda like 2019. The defense could be decent and we would be top five. They need to play in the backfield instead of letting teams carve them up like that. This is not even close to the standard.

Based off our issues Saturday night, there are no fixes in the current recruiting class. A top 5 class that doesn’t make you any better is troubling. The only time I thought we had a chance to win was after Ole Miss’s last TD. I figured the defense wouldn’t get back on the field and we had the ball in our hands was best case scenario. I actually cheered when they scored, because if they kneeled at the 3, it’s absolutely game over.

What troubled me was the lack of effort. Ole Miss running back running for a touchdown and the LSU players just trotting along and not running at full speed behind him. It's a combination of coaching and personnel. I complained about this before, the media kept talking about how good our transfers were. HOW? When u look at other schools, and see the transfers they took in, they are night and day better than ours. We have a talent deficiency. And when u have that, u have to coach and scheme better. And we don't have the coaches to do that. The missed tackles!! Thats coaching. This defense will continue to get torched, all season.

He will definitely make changes on that side of the ball in the off-season if things continue this way. He did that with Brian Vangordon at ND. Fired him and brought in Elko. How many times have we seen LSU linemen or ends making plays in the backfield? Or linebackers in the backfield. Or corner blitzes. Safety blitzes. How many times this year? Tackles for loss and sacks used to be common watching LSU. The defense kept us in hundreds of games when the offense was struggling. Seems like we had an attack, disrupt and destroy mentality that created turnovers, disrupted timing, put team behind the sticks. Put fear in the hearts of qb's and offensive coaches. Now we react. Play soft, off the ball. Then the offense takes what we give them. Our defense simply reacts and a well coordinated attack machine like Lane Kiffin's rat race track meet carved it up like the turkey at Thanksgiving. It's got to be philosophic. They're all out there thinking too much to even bother to tackle the guy with the ball. Defense is a mindset. Play like a Tiger. Sad to score 49 and lose. I don't blame the players. The coaches have to own this. Regroup, reset, reload. Attack. Let's Go Tigers.

I know this won't come as much consolation, but Ole Miss is a different offense with a healthy Tre Harris. Watkins is a good option as a #2 receiver. Wade is a fine option as a #3 receiver. When they are 1-2 teams can stuff the box. Having a healthy Prieskorn at TE is a big help as well because he's the only TE on the roster who can block. If Daniels can play like he did vs. Ole Miss, you should win the rest of your games.

On that last throw of the game, it hit chris in the hands, but if you slow the play down, the defender pushes chris's arm down before the ball gets there, interefering with the catch. Prob should have still caught the ball, but getting interefered with doesnt make it any easier. ANd def could have been a penalty, but it is what it is. Defense blows and is wasting this offensive fire power. Luckily we dont play another offense as explosive as Ole miss. Hopefully we can outscore every team from here on out.

Ok first of all agreed, this not on the offense at all but you have to point out mistakes when they occur from players and coaches. We had quite a bit of bad subs or lack of subbing and use of player personnel by the staff. First off, why do you bring a freshman RB in the game for the first time in the second half, cold AF and pass to him? Give the man some playing time in the first half and he probably catches that ball. That’s how these players work. They need to play and get warm before thrown out there at an important moment of a game. That was a mistake. Secondly Hilton needs to sit and practice jugs more. Play Parker and Sampson. We will need the damn experience next year people. They’re super talented and will perform well. Give those two some touches and when you need a 6’5 WR to run a deep pattern in the last seconds for a jump ball situation, you have trust in him and he get it done. Remember Jr his freshman year??? He made some huge plays just like that and Sampson or Parker can absolutely do that for us. Diggs and Jackson should be getting more touches together. Weeks needs to stay in the game and he also needs to show the rest of the entire team how to put himself in good positions as well as tackle. Just watch him and do what he does and our defense would be middle of the SEC which is all we need them to be. Look guys, I appreciate what you do for LSU but small changes, small drills and a real focus on coaching up the right things can improve this defense. No we don’t have dominant SEC players but we are better or on par with Tulane so that tells me that they’re out of position and confused. Take that damn 10 yard cushion and make it 5 or don’t let them back peddle another 5 yards after the snap if you going to give them 10 yards initially. This is what we need to fix this. Drills for all levels of the defense on pursuing the ball carrier, whether that is a QB, RB or WR. We need to teach these guys how to square up with the ball carrier and then how to tackle/wrapping up the lower body. Our entire defense is running north/south too fast and not east west to prevent the ball carrier from advancing the ball north/south. Slide, slide, slide, wrap up. We run up to the ball carrier and they simply move east/west and we’re out of position in an instant. Square your body up and slide instead of running towards. That keeps the runner bottled up and allows your other defenders time to help you make a tackle. Same with a QB. How many times have wr missed a sack because we’re moving to fast to actually make a tackle? Slow yourself down and get a good square angle before you wrap up. You also HAVE to wrap up their lower body, I keep seeing our players tackle high? Wtf is that and I hope we not teaching them this junk. Y’all said last week that Welch wasn’t going to play, well he did and it wasn’t all bad. The tackle I saw him miss was partly because the damn cushion the scheme allows those WRs gives the WR too much space once they catch the ball. Teach them how to close that space or close it initially. Sage Ryan needs to sit. Harris needs to sit until he learns how to tackle the right way and learns when to be physical and when not to. Teach these guys to turn for the ball. Teach these guys to look at the QBs eyes and not look at the WRs on the field. They have to play smarter not harder. They have enough speed and strength, they just don’t know how or when to use it. That falls on the coaches. Matt House and the entire staff needs to start working with this defense if that’s what’s needed. Starting today. They need extra time. They need help. Help them! Stop doing this routine shit and get unconventional. Bring some of the former LSU greats and let them work with our guys and remind them who they are and where they are. Put some old LSU tape on and inspire these guys. It’s time to get creative and use action. You can do more and we can get better. We can at least get to mid tier SEC level. 26 to 30 points a game and get off on half of our 3rd downs. We have better players than this and our coaches should be ashamed that they allowed this to happen. Focused on the wrong shit. Time to get back to the drawing board. Stop putting Perkins’s as the 4th rusher and let him be the 5th or 6th rusher on 1st and 2nd downs. Only use that 3 man front for 3rd and super long or prevent. I’d still bring pressure with 3rd and longs. Man up and keep 1 safety.

He still doesn't get it. A second grader knows better than to do what he did. BK is not looking good to put it lightly. Yes Ole Miss played a great game and so did LSU and yet, BK lost the game for the players. Instead of going for it on 4th down with minutes left on the clock, he punted. He's clueless and still in denial as to the obvious nature of this blunder. Notice he doesn't take personal responsibility but is underhandedly blaming the team. Make no mistake, BK lost this game for the team. Ole Miss was going through our defense like hot butter and so anyone with an iota of wisdom knows to go for it on 4th down. There was nothing to lose but the game and he lost it for us immediately upon punting. Utter stupidity.
