Pretty sure it’s grease based, normally it doesn’t easily wear off. You could look up Krytox 205 Grade 0, a thick lube used for housing and generally linear switches to see it’s characteristics

I think it would comes down to personal preference. I do like clicky one, but they aren't very work friendly ha ha. So ended up with linear switches.

They are the original one from the Keychron. But the newer models come with PBT keycap and not backlit. But I wouldn't recommend this backlit one from Keychron. The quality isn't nice and can see some chips just after a few months.

Same! I used numpad quite alot sometimes. So, I get myself a USB numpad. But normal times, I find myself not using it as much. But the shorter layout is quite good though. It makes the mouse position to be much more comfortable. I would suggest to give it a try and see if you like it.

@Andy Sheng it would be a bit hard to find exact one. May be you might like a tactile style switches. Try brown switches and see if they suit your preference.

I think lubing would mostly help with making it feel smoother and bassier sounding instead of harsh sound. But for clicky types, I think it won't make much difference interms of sound.

They should still helps with the sound improvement. And slightly smoother as well. But as silver already has rather short travel for the actuation point, might not be noticeable in terms of smoothness.

As they keyboard is using mechanical switches, by putting lubricants in the moving part, it improves the feel (and sound depending on your preference) of the switches.

Mason_TheShepar D They are Gateron red switches. If you are lubing brown switches, do be careful since it could affect the tactile feel. I would suggest to try it on a switch that you don't use often first before doing it for the whole board.

Lloyd Hayden the stock switches are quite okay. But lubing makes them much smoother and sounds better - but sound is very objective to each individual person. But it does feel a lot smoother. I would recommend giving it a try on one of the least used key and see if you like the lubed switch better before lubbing all the switches.

Te they don’t get quieter per se, but they tend to be bassier and sound a lot more consistent with eachother so that could be perceived as being quieter
