What a sadness of Tchaikovsky when he composed this waltz, can feel it, it is a sentimental voice of loneliness... He suffered a lot, it was too much for the envious without talent homophobic and conservative men surrounding him that creation gave him all the talent to be the greatest composer of Russia being a homosexual man... they could put up with this until they obligue him to committing suicide...so cruel, sad and ironic for the great composer...They just kill his physical body, but Tchaikownski was already inmortal... his lives every day somebody plays his music I or listen to it.... who remember or talk about the asesinas? Nobody., they are dead and forgotten.

Actually Tchaikovsky was also a conservative even for his time, and he was quite open with his homosexuality. And how do you know he commited suicide ? Yes Tchaikovsky was sad and yes his struggle with his sexuality has to do with it, but he was also depressed due to his siter's death and many other issues. Don't use him for your agenda.

Debargue...not Debarge...fantastic player. Despite very good and enchanting, is to me too free and out of the original intention of Ciaikovsky with this extreme rubato instead of a simple, plain rendition. But the contrast between sections is really effective. So it looks great!

I absolutely loved this interpretation, I don't know why but this rubato seems so fit...it just describes all the pain Caikovsky had inside. I guess all is in the ears of a listener. Perhaps my soul that is from that region feels this more.

Too much rubato. Let the music of the Russian Waltz King speak its own way without losing the power of a consistent tempo that may be danced to by a willing couple, uninebriated to relish the elegance in their partnership suggested by Tchaikovsky's miniature masterpiece.
