When I got my Lucas Horizontal Boring Mill, one of the spring loaded handles used to shift speeds and feeds had been broken off. Using one from another handle as a pattern, I machined a new one out of steel using my Monarch Model K metal lathe. Two parts were turned, one of which was knurled and then they were put together and locked together using a tapered pin and installed back on the machine.
