Thanks to both of you. Now I dream of driving this car! --- Sorry, long read ahead: What I like about Lucid after watching this well-done piece of infotainment: It is not about perfection, but perfection as a tool for feelings! The car feels very roomy, calm, stable, yet fun to drive. And sometimes” you feel like a hero!” The idea comes from Esther Unti (1:04:55.) “We can lean more on the systems that are smooth, seamless don’t know they are there. Just to make you feel like a hero.” And Lucid nailed the hero feeling, according to Jason Cammisa (Hagerty) in his road trip conversation with Jason Freke (Engineering Explained), both on YT. kzitem.info/news/bejne/t5-XnWSZcaSAgo4feature=shared&t=1463 In Min 24:23, both speak of “Hero Mode” after their time on the tracks. Could be talking point of Lucid, but the way they talked about it… what a compliment to the Lucid team around Esther Unti and John Culliton! And the way Lucid shifted from Bosch controlling system to recreate some effects with the inherent qualities of their own systems to achieve this feeling is elegant and well explained! Biggest “Wow” moment in this video: JC Monnet not only talking about aero in sedans as a negative drag but as a positive control mechanism in high-speed stability. That was beautiful, I could imagine the down force so well. Making people see air is an amazing talent! And Lucid’s dedication to curve the end of the battery pack to get more of a controlling down flow is wonderful! Since Lucid does not seem to have a slogan, here are some cheesy ones. “Lucid - like a hero” “Lucid - drive like a hero” “Sapphire - engineered like a hero” Thanks for the good times booth of you!

When I first heard about a 90 minute Savagegeese video, I had mixed feelings. I was worried about lengthy and boring interviews with boring people. But these were _my_ people. They reminded me of numerous start-ups I've worked at in Silicon Valley, where Lucid is also headquartered. I was super engaged by how passionate and thoughtful these interview responses were and greatly appreciate the attention to detail Lucid has paid both in the thoughtful design & engineering of their Saphire Air, but also their processes and methodologies to make not the best electric car they can today, but also set themselves up for success in the future by ensuring tight collaboration of their multiple in-house departments and feedback loops throughout each iteration. That's not just how you build a great car. That's how you start-up a great company. Super stoked to see where Lucid is in 5-10 years! Also, Mark and Jack's enthusiasm in the beginning of the video caught me completely off-guard. Looking forward to more of these, provided other companies are brave-enough to launch their products in a similarly unique and insightful way for Savagegeese to review!

Its a tough sell. Tesla can do most of this for much cheaper, has the scale and dealership network for maintenance. If you want to go fast, you get the Plaid.. anyone really gonna spend 100k more for a Sapphire when its not that much faster in a straight line? I mean a plaid already does 9's... an extra tenth or two or better driving dynamics probably just isnt enough. You take this down to like $160, $170, theres probably a better market there. The amount of quality from this video is magical. From the music choice, camera angles, gorilla animaltions, sense of humor, best car reviews on the internet and always will be. The balance of mark being so good at explaining and jacks driving skills make for the most comprehensive review possible. Amazing

Ive been watching since around 2017, and this is probably my favourite video you've ever done (I love the lfa one too :D). The insane effort and passion you put into this, from the editing, music, storytelling and so on, is obvious. Ive very rarely seen you so all in on a car before, its crazy. As an engineering student, I cannot list the amount of things that makes me literally jump for joy. When I first saw people drag race this car, I completely wrote it off a a pure straight line thing similar to a tesla model s, and like that car, I was completely uninterested. Its crazy how there's not a SINGLE video on youtube that shows this car and the people behind it in any detail. As soon as I saw that the head of aero was an ex f1 aerodynamicist and started talking about the lack of induced drag on the underbody strakes, and that they supply the batteries for formula e, I couldnt stop thinking about what insane thing they are doing next. So fucking cool :D

My only problem w the company is the CEO, he's deceptive and cashing out early, taking $0.3B salary this yr when they are FAR from break even is obscene. Peter is "all out" instead of all in, I don't think he expects it to survive the decade so I can't either.

So can porsche. The new taycan just posted a 7:07 around nurumbring. Are we forgetting that the taycan too this day is the fastest dual motor EV ever created? It took tesla since 2007 and on too make a fast EV and in porsche first attempt it blew teslas fastest cat away and they had to add an entire other motor.

Quite literally, I live up the road in Maricopa from their factory in Casa Grande. I see the cars quite routinely now. The cars are MASTERPIECES just to look at. Stunningly beautiful. It's just one of those designs that snaps my neck in the direction of the car, wherever it is. I never thought a sedan would have that effect on me. When I retire from my NW Indiana job in 4 years, I want to work for them in any capacity.

A masterclass of automotive journalism! Thanks for bringing this vid to us. But Lucid though. The engineers really love what they do, have accomplished, and what they will still accomplish in the future and you can feel and just know that it’s coming from the leadership up top. It’s a great feeling to geek out with such experts even though I’ve got no engineering background whatsoever just a casual enjoyer who appreciates greatness and the team at Lucid certainly exudes it. Excited to see Gravity and future products from Lucid.

This video is an absolute masterpiece and a rather refreshing perspective on car design and production- an approach that focusses on the right set of characteristics with elegant engineering solutions. The values that you guys also hold as a channel are honestly how most people should think about cars- practical to own over the LONG TERM as well as fun to drive. It is so irresponsible to dump the amount of resources that car companies are into what are 2-4 year horizon products (EQS and other piles like it)
