That was truly an emotionally intense moment to watch as her mind travelled back into thinking about the memories of how her Mother was pleased with Lucy. You could see the thoughts and emotions wash over her face. I loved Lucille Ball and wish we still had her comic genius making new stuff today. RIP

I just watched this movie on Christmas Day 2023. I cried throughout the movie. It's such a good movie. This movie has motivated me a lot recently. I just don't understand why so many critics bash her in the 80s. I read an article from the Los Angeles Times bashing her for this movie. Lucille Ball is a legend. You don't disrespect a legend. This interviewer asked a stupid question about asking her if she had any regrets for being a legend. That's the most stupid thing to ask her. Lucille is the greatest legend in television history.

As much as she gave us, which is unbelievable on its own, i saw in those last moments of this interview in her reflecting, that we only saw a small amount of this legends gifts, just a fraction. Thank you lucy!!! Whenever i cant find anything on tv, i turn to tv land and watch one of your shows. Still stands the test of time! Your timeless!! Thank you!!❤

The ending almost made me cry. Lucy would run away to NYC sometimes to work her way into the business. Her mother was so supportive. When Lucy in the same acting class as Bette Davis, the headmaster kicked her out and said the money was being wasted because she would never make it in the business. Her mother was there to pick her up and was the glue that kept the family together while Lucy and Desi were making history with the show.

Actually her father died when she was under 4; when her mother remarried - left Lucy with her step grandparents who were pretty severe. Her mother was gone for months and even years at a time. One of her childhood friends used the correct phrase "her mother abandoned her" while Lucy never complained about the harshness of her step grandparents or the mother's abandonment - It had an effect on her for life. (Also she never complained about her step father, who actually did not want children, told her to call him Ëd". )

Rona Barrett is everything a celebrity interviewer should not be. Nothing about her is redeeming. She spends the first part of the interview trying to get Lucy to say that it bothered her that she looked unrecognizable in her role as a homeless bag lady in The Stone Pillow. When that didn’t work, she spent the latter part of the interview trying to get Lucy to say that she regrets being so famous and always being recognized wherever she goes and that she wishes instead she could lead the simple life as the little girl from her hometown. What a wasted time Lucy spent with that mess!
