Four weeks before my sister died, she and I were driving around in my car, and I had this playing on the CD player. She turned to me and said “Are you thinking of playing this at my funeral?”. I looked round at her and said “Yes, I am”. We both smiled. She then turned away. Boy, I miss her. Sorry for the sentimentality, but thanks for this beautiful track, Lucinda. Not heard it in a while but needed to tonight. Thanks. xxx

It's been nine years since you made this comment, and I'm sure that you can still picture the two of you like it was yesterday. It's been almost thirty-eight years since I lost my mother/best friend. I'm now fifty-two and I can still see her sitting in the car on our last day out. The tears still come on occasion, but I try to remember only the good. 💖

A fucking national treasure is what Lucinda is. I'm confident that people will realize her greatness one day down the road. I hope she sticks around to relish it. She'll be celebrated like all our legends are today. She's old enough to be one but her recording career was sporadic until the past 12 years that she got a late start on making an impression with most. Not even an average album in her canon, but several great ones. Car Wheels is in my top 100 LPs ever. West will prove to be a top 250!

I met Lucinda after she played mountain stage in Charleston, WV with a good friend of hers from Sarasota, Fl. We were back stage and later we all went to the Marriott and talked for a couple hours-she is humble, kind and and her band was kickin-an awesome time. Thanks Lucinda.

I first heard this song on the show "House". Ms. Williams voice compliments this song with wonderfully nostalgic lyrics and such universal meaning. The instruments also intensifies the simplicity of this song. Beautiful composition all around.

I love this song. Reminds me of someone I loved but left early. I know he's all right - I just wish I could have told him more things before he left. There's a lesson here! Lucinda Willilams writes straight from the heart, she is REAL and that's why she's one of my very favorite singer/songwriters.
