These are more skill stats than S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats although the show does have a lot scenes where S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats come into play. The first one that comes to mind is when Lucy's cousin, the gate keeper, gets attacked by a raider and the raider ends up tripping and getting himself cut in half, showing that her cousin has high luck probably in exchange for his obviously lacking charisma.

@wyomingsioux
Ай бұрын
Having played virtually all the Fallout games, beginning with the original from 1997, I appreciated the reference to in-game skills. Repair, Science, and Speech are self explanatory. The other descriptions are less direct but easily matched to the appropriate skill or stat. Watching movies with Dad= Endurance (while peddling), possibly Agility and Perception as well. Gymnastics club= Agility. Fencing team C= Melee skill. Intermediate phys ed= Unarmed skill. Riflery= Small Guns skill (Fallout 1 and 2) or simply Guns (Fallout 3 onward). Implied to be one of her Untagged skills (she has some familiarity but isn’t very proficient with firearms). The reference to her teaching Ethics, as well as her chipper demeanor, may be a nod to the Good Natured trait, which gives a bonus to non-combat skills like Speech, Medicine, Repair, and Science but at a cost to combat skills. Overall, she comes across as a “pacifist” build, an image reinforced later in the episode when her first weapon turns out to be the non-lethal syringer. Incorporating these concepts into an oral recitation of her CV is a nice touch- she’s essentially showing us her character page. If I were to guess at her Fallout 1 or 2 stats and skills, they might be something like this: Lucy, 21 (?) year old human female, level 1 S 5 (Average) P 4 (Fair- she doesn’t notice the weirdness with the “Vault 32” residents, until it’s too late) E 6 (Good- she takes quite a beating in the first episode and is able to survive) C 7 (Very good. She’s attractive and charming, in her wide-eyed naivety) I 6 (Good- she’s at least of above average intelligence, just naive) A 7 (Very good, as evidenced by her proficiency in phys ed and gymnastics) L 5 (Average. She has had her share of terrible luck but also benefited from conveniently timed plot events, which balances out) Traits: Educated (+2 skill points per level. Results from her dabbling in many hobbies in the Vault), Good Natured (bonus to noncombatant skills, penalty to combat skills). Tagged skills: Repair, Science, Speech (totally non-combat build). Inventory: Vault 33 jumpsuit, purified bottled water, syringer, syringer darts, Vault 33 bedroll and camping tools.
@ChromeTeck

40 Points at Lvl. 1?
@wyomingsioux
Ай бұрын
@@ChromeTeck in Fallout 1, 2, 3, New Vegas and Tactics, you start with 5 in all stats and have 5 additional points to distribute at level 1, for a total of 40 points. If you take the Gifted trait, you get a total of 47, as you start with 6 in all stats, but at the cost of -10 to -20% to all starting skills and reduced skill points per level, equal to 2 x Intelligence (rather than 2 x Intelligence +5). It was only in Fallout 4 that your starting attribute points dropped significantly. And Gifted no longer gave you extra stat points. Also, stat points no longer had a descriptor, like 5= average, 6= good, 7= very good, 8= great, 9= excellent, and 10= heroic. I mentioned that I was using Fallout 1 and 2 rules for the character sheet. And because I did not give her the Gifted trait, she has the standard 40 stat points.
@wyomingsioux
Ай бұрын
Just realized I made a mistake. Educated is a perk you gain on level up, not a starting trait. It still suits her but if we are going strictly by the rules, it would not be present at level 1. Could possibly substitute with Small Frame (she seems rather slender)- penalty to carry weight but +1 to Agility, bringing it up to 8 and giving her 9 Action Points (again, Fallout 1 and 2 rules). Seems fair. In a later episode, we see her making rapid shots with a 10mm pistol, at radroaches, suggesting a fairly good AP pool.

@cg6176 I think that's all it boils down to. I've seen some wild theory crafting from people who notice that kids are basically never seen. To me, the default state of a production is "no kids." Harder to work with, more expensive, shorter hours, harder to get good performances... And the ones that you do end up having to get better have a damn good reason to be there. They established there's kids, as extras in the classroom scene. It shouldn't really be a huge suspension of disbelief to believe there continue to be kids, just "off camera." If they lack speaking roles it makes little sense to continue to hire extras extensively through the series.

@@CatLover-gk8uuunfortunately those people have devolved to the point that they now see almost everything as woke, making it their whole personality. You don’t have to go far to find those channels who fixate on such things and pander to their audiences of like minded shut ins. Jinx and Lucy, Ella Purnell's getting some nice roles
@turnip9367
Ай бұрын
I don't understand why Lucy received backlash from some people in the Fallout community. She's a petty dynamic character. She's intelligent, humorous in a dorky way, though her quips never outstayed their welcome. She can handle herself but isn't too overpowered and is still vulnerable, so it's not like she's a 'Mary Sue'. And her naivety is a nice contrast to the other characters and is perfect for someone exploring the wasteland for the first time. That's probably why I really enjoyed watching her journey, seeing how she adapted to the wasteland while still maintaining the empathy that defined her.

Clearly all of reeplies are fake imposters. If you played Fallout franchise, you'd see it's more realistic, horrific and depressing than this family friendly show. The trilogy and NV were at least really good. But NV is what nails with the world, dialogues and vaults. Vaults in Fallout 3 are also interesting because you find out the whole nuclear holocaust is caused by Vault themselves to use humanity as experiments.
