I'm playing this song in remembrance to a friend/coworker who lost a valiant battle to cancer. He was only 22. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this sad time. Rest now, brother, for your battle is at an end...

I was listening to Primavera earlier today as I was doing my homework, and my sibilings thought it was depressing and wanted me to turn it off. I, in turn, asked them to look outside and watch the plants blow in the wind. These plants were blowing in sync with the music. It allowed them to not think and just relax. It also made them listen to what the melody is trying to say, not just what it sells from the first few notes. Try it with all of his music. It sort of works; very relaxing :)

The beauty of Minimalism is that the listener can connect and flow with it on whatever level they choose, because of it's simplicity, so much can be left for the imagination; where, in more complex pieces, there is far too much mud and distraction and the true soul of the piece is buried under layers of musical psychosis. At least, that's how I hear it. Of course, Einaudi is a true master of this composition. Often, less IS more...

A real musician, in my eyes, should not complain about another's music, nor should they be jealous. They should appreciate all types of music, whether it appeals to them or not. A song could be as simple as a 3 chord progression or it could be more complicating. The way I see it, is that if somebody writes music to express feelings, whether it be instrumental or vocal, then it should all be worth listening to... and should at the least be respected :)
