This is one of the best sounding drums I've heard in a while. Great colors. I like that nice loud deep 24 inch bass drum. This is also proof that you don't need anything wider than a 14 inch wide bass drum.

He's having a lot of fun because when the drums have a magical recipe when made -- the final product your hitting makes you feel great. If you feel great, you play great. Bottom line look at the smile on his face and how his drumming just came out of him. No matter what set you buy if the drums do that to your soul, then its a great choice. Great job Ludwig! Anyone who really surfs knows when you get that magic board it's a life long keeper and defiantly the same type of thang. Peace

Nick might also have mentioned that the "Triad" brackets for the floor tom legs incorporate isolation mounts like the chunkier "Atlas" brackets. And "yes," you can hear the difference between a Triad/Atlas bracket-equipped floor tom and Ludwig's traditional "Classic" bracket set-up.

Hi Nick. You're awesome! Tons of very usefull info from your side about druming. I have not played a conventional drumset for 20 years any more due to job and other circumstances. Fire was off. By accident i hit one of your videos and i'm back...totally addicted again. After all these years of playing Roland Mash Heads, they are cool too, at least for not getting rusty, i want to start back from the begining again. Ghost notes, the salt in the soup. A video about how to play these, from you, would be super cool. By the way, would you be so nice to tell me the title of the opening song of this video....it's just cool with you on the drums. Thank you very much for your inspiration! Kind regards from good old Germany. Bernd

I'm more of a Gretsch guy I guess. Gretsch are more musical and resonant, Ludwig are thuddy. I've had so many Ludwig sets, I started with Ludwig and for years that's all I had. I could never really get the sound I wanted, I guess I wanted Gretsch but never knew it.

@@NEALBABBITT Keller is the largest manufacturer of drum shells in the US. Most custom drum companies like SJC, Q Drum, and even Gretsch just buy the same Keller shell's you could buy, and paint and hang the hardware then charge a huge markup. Ludwig, C&C, Pearl, and DW all make their own shells.
