Luka-Kyrie/Dlive-Gafford...thats what we call *GG* Without a doubt the most entertaining and nailbiting team in the league.

I don't think I have ever seen a better passing video even from the legends of the game. If you have I would like to see it.

This doesn’t fit the “lukas a ball hog” narrative

The reason people have this narrative is for the longest time Luka played with guys who's only skill was to shoot threes. Literally Luka & 4 guys that could shoot threes. This year has been a lot different, especially when Kyrie is playing. Over the 6 game winning streak the Mavs are on Luka's usage rate is down to 30%. I think Luka plays the way that gives them the best chance to win & now that he has teammates with different skills that narrative will be put to bed.

Not taking anything away from Luka. Great passes to the open guy. By and large, the defense in most of those highlights is terrible.

can you time stamp some of the times the defense was "terrible?"

@@ryanschmidt2181 In my opinion, there was poor defense in about 2/3 of all those highlights. Too many for me to time stamp. Watch the clip again, but don't watch Doncic. Watch the defense. On a lot of those pick and rolls, there was either a lack of a defensive hedge by the pick defender or a poor one. This allows Luka to get his defender on his hip(where he loves to have them) and allows him to drive to the basket at his pace. The pick defender then has to also guard Luka which leaves his man wide open for a lob. A good hedge makes the Luka drive more difficult. The lob defender also needs to run that guy out of the paint and not allow them an easy run to the basket. Some of the defensive rotations were either unneeded or really slow and people were losing their guys. In this day and age of 3 pt shooting, all defenders do not need to collapse into the paint on a drive. That just leaves an open 3 point shooter with no chance of a close out. There were quite a few times where Luka faked the shot and threw a pass instead to a wide open person under the basket. When an offensive player is in the paint, there should always be a body on them by a defensive player. Not only to defend, but also to position themselves for a box out to get the rebound. Not looking to start any arguments, but that's how I see it.

Yes the defense is quite different than how we remember it in the old days, that's for sure
