@abolimhamane7159
4 ай бұрын
Horrible take. You realize they would gain experience by winning as well, right? Kyrie is also getting older so he won't be as good as he used to be. This year was the best chance the Mavs had barring a massive team change like Jokic somehow joining (which won't happen). Losing is never a good thing for a team. They might be back in the following years but this was a great opportunity for them to take home a ring and they failed. Also the "experience"? Experience is entirely irrelevant. Kyrie was here before and he performed horribly while this was Luka's first time in the NBA Finals and he was by far the best player on the Mavs and probably the entire series.
@MrEdwar248
4 ай бұрын
@@abolimhamane7159 I disagree with a lot of your take man. Mavs got 3 pieces that dramatically shifted things for them, defensively and offensively. Kyrie had a bad series but not a bad season, his contributions have been phenomenal. They have something to build on especially since they all made it to the finals in their first stint together. Mavs deserve criticism but to say that their done when they made the WCF 2 years ago, then they were counted out the next season because they missed the plays offs, and then they climb back up the next season and make it to the finals on a late trade, in the west which is considered to be tough, AND they beat the best teams in the west to get to the finals That's not a fluke man, I hope they stay competitive for a long time like Boston will. Tatum and Brown also failed in the finals before getting this one, also their teammate Al Horford won his first championship after 17 seasons so that narrative about age isn't 100%. Celtics worked hard for this, years of building and going through the slumps. Good for them they're a talented team. Let's see how many they can win together. I hope for a rematch it would be interesting to see how Dallas would play against them a second time.
@d1pz9
4 ай бұрын
If you take the last 2 Mavs' seasons at face-value, it's absolutely insane that they made it to the finals with 2 mediocre trades after picking up this season where they left off last year, failing to make the playoffs and playing the worst defense in the league. This is a huge success for Luka and the team, they got a taste for it and will come back stronger, just like the Celtics did

From not making the playing to play in, to reaching the finals against a great team. They tried, but the level of talent and maturity of the Celtics was too much. @@kcassidy90 bruh I love book but Luka is a top 3 player at the very least. He can add nothing to his game but conditioning and will have already improved massively for next year. And his %s all over the floor increased dramatically from last year to this year. The guy is still improving. Book is too inconsistent to be compared to Luka sadly and I love book's game.

feels good to have another chip after over a decade of appearences in the ECF and finals and getting beaten again and agian. Our time was coming eventually. Great season, playoffs were about what I expected with all of the teams in the East suffering huge injuries. Still enjoyed the Eastern Conference playoffs though, lots of young talent stepping up paving the way for next season and beyond. I wouldnt have not been upsetting had this series gone in the Mavs favor though. Both Kyrie and Luka played their hearts out in these playoffs and would have been satisfied had they got the chip instead. Lots of great potential with this Mavs team going forward though. Cant wait to see how they bounce back next season

He’ll be back because he IS that good but he needs to take his conditioning more seriously moving forward. To be fair, this is his deepest playoff run up until this point so hopefully he learns from it. But still, he dropped off in the 4th quarter of these games on both ends, that can’t be the case if you want to win a title

As a Boston fan, Dallas will get there. Luka was amazing, But they the spotlight of the finals got to them the same way it got to Boston a few years ago. They know what to expect now if they make a few moves and run it back. I tried to tell people that Boston is just DIFFERENT this time around. You're not just contending with two super stars. You're competing with an entire team that has been through the adversities and yes Boston is an extremely tough crowd. The Celtics have the pressure of expectation constantly and they've felt loss repeatedly before their success. So they're battle tested in a different way. Respect to Luka again. He never gave up once out there and he needs help. Boston is the best team in the league. He fought hard.

He won’t be back there ever again. He’ll be just a superstar possibly a future hall of famer without a ring. The west is only going to get tougher and Luka will won’t be expected to win a single a championship in his career. That’s just how it is, it’s unfortunate but many superstar like harden and Russ don’t have rings either so either way Luka will still be good, just no ring.

Speaking from a casual perspective (I'm no officionado) but it seems Luka is of the same caliber as LeBron and KD, he can score the ball without needing to heat up. Whereas his teammates need to take a couple shots before they can become efficient. If you pay attention to LeBron's game, he feeds his teammates the ball so they can get in rhythm n become more efficient. With Luca I noticed he likes to score the ball. Get the team up by about 6 to 10 points before he allows them to get in rhythm. I believe that's called playing hero Ball which clearly didn't work out for. Harden and the rockets. Back to the drawing board. This team is still new so this season wasn't a failure at all. Shake it off Luka You're still the goat!

Not sure what media you're watching; Kyrie was widely criticised for not stepping up to support Luka in the 1st 2 games and now in game 5.
