Lukashenko: Let's negotiate! Only peace! It's going to end in peace anyway! The world is growing interconnected. It may not matter if you live in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine or the United States. The world was moving in that direction, people were free to move around the world, to choose their place of residence. It does not matter whether there is a border here or there. This is the way things were going. Why are we killing each other?
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with representatives of foreign and Belarusian media in Minsk on 16 February.
The meeting with journalists lasted more than three hours. Media representatives received answers to a variety of questions. Above all, they were interested in the opinion of the head of state on the most pressing issues: the conflict in Ukraine and the positions of the parties, war and peace, the reaction of Belarus to the developing situation, the upcoming negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and, in general, the Union State interaction. Some of the topics discussed concerned Belarus’ domestic and foreign policy.
The event was unplanned, spontaneous. The president responded to requests of foreign journalists who came to Minsk and decided to have a press conference.
