Without any shadow of doubt the greatest Irish singer of all time, simply outstanding.

I love the way he says 'I hope I can do it, but we'll try', and then you hear the immense power of the first few notes he hits. Beautiful.

Listened to Luke from the very start of the Dubs, still listening to them to this day. Must admit I have never heard Luke struggle for any note. He was, and still is the Pavarotti of the Folk world. There will never be another Pavarotti, neither will there ever be another Luke, just a unique talent. That's all there is to say, rest easy Luke, you and the former Dubs will never be forgotten throughout the generations to come.

Ah Kelly dear thanks for finding _this_version. A little different version then his later and last performance. He sings this in the key of "A" and then he sweetened it up a few years later to the key of "G". Pure genious ans still the greatest folk singer of ALL times. Tanks be to God we have these recordings. Slan, Dan Reilly PS: Wifey told me today she booked two weeks in April of 2011. Maybe we can meet at O'Donohue's and look at all the great photo's of Luke.

Wonderful to hear this earlier version. Higher key of course than the one we're more familiar with and you can hear Luke strain a little for those high notes. Glad he took it down a few steps later on.
