Thanks for all the tips! On the last one., wearing two Carlys. I would turn the first one inside out. That way you really get to see the fabric contrast. And if you roll the sleeves up the true fabric will show. Thanks again.

Has anyone tried a Cassie over the Carly with the bottom peeking out? Or would the fabric bunch to much underneath? I don't have a Cassie or I'd try it.
@LuLaRoebyJenniferandEllen

If you fold (almost like you would if you were doing a french cuff) you could totally wear it under the cassie (that's often how I wear it under the maxi). You could also blouse it out a little if you don't want the back of the carly to keep out.

Hopefully my video gave you some ideas to help!! Another easy trick is if you wear the Carly as is, try putting on a denim jacket/moto jacket/blazer that hits you at your natural waist--it will create a little definition and take away from that super A-line feel:) xoxo!

Hey Grace! I'm 5'6"....There are definitely tricks you can do to shorten your Carly but the best bet may be to have them shortened--just tell you tailor you want them to cut the same length off all the way around and that will ensure it will keep the high/low hem. Some of my Carly's are fine and some of my Carly's I did have shortened a little.

When I flip mine backward there is a seam down the center...

Not all carlys have a back seam so the tricks i do in the reverse are only going to work on those particular carlys--some carlys also don't have the pocket as well:)

Those styles don't work well for Carlys with pockets and that have a seam running down their backs...which is most of all Carly dresses selling on LLR. It would be nice if this advice was embedded in the video.

Wouldn't the pocket on the Carly look silly in the back? You'd only be able to do this if you wore something over it.
@LuLaRoebyJenniferandEllen
7 жыл бұрын
Not all Carly's have a pocket...so it would definitely work with the pocketless ones....But yes, if you are doing the reverse with a Carly with a pocket, you will want to wear something over it:)

@LuLaRoebyJenniferandEllen

I did cut the hole! I have a few pairs i have slashed--some have simple cuts just like this one and some have a ton of cuts:) And it's awesome to wear a pair of fishnets underneath your slashed leggings!!

Do you ever wear footed tights or pantyhose with flats & your Carly?...NEVER see ANYONE wearing it that way...ONLY with leggings or bare legs....
@elizabethhaus7038

I'm so disappointed. I just ordered a carly. I have no LLR pieces, but caved from the pressure of SO MANY friends selling it, and not doing well. I thought this was a dress, but on the model it looks like a tunic. In my opinion... I am not a fan of the tunic/leggings look. It screams "I give up" to me. I wanted a dress that I could simply wear opaque tights and ankle boots with. This goes WAY above the knee on the woman in the video, so it will be quite unprofessional.
@LuLaRoebyJenniferandEllen

The Carly hits me about an inch above the knee. I often tie mine up bc I like to show a little more leg but the Carly is definitely a more conservative length. If your dress is super short, it may be the Scarlett which is the kids version of the Carly-they are often worn by some girls as tunics.
@elizabethhaus7038

I'm talking about the model in the video. Her dress is very short and an unprofessional length. Leggings and tunics have been addressed at my place of employment as a look that is frowned upon. I was really hoping what I was going to receive would be a longer look than that of the one on the model in this video.
@LuLaRoebyJenniferandEllen

Elizabeth Haus The model in the video is me:) I am all legs but that being said, a lot of the looks I showed are meant to be worn with leggings or a Cassie underneath. If you want the length to be longer, I’d recommend just wearing it down and adding a layering piece like a Sarah or Joy or even a blazer to make it a little more profession for an office. Worst case scenario, it’s a great option for the weekends or a night out with friends!

Thank you. I'm not really into the layering look, but I only bought the one piece, so I guess we just live and learn.

@@elizabethhaus7038 I understand that you can't wear leggings and tunic at your work. I am however confused as to why you say that look screams "I give up" It certainly does not! If a woman wears the right shoes and accessories/jewelry she can look very put together. The Carly dress by the way, is not my favorite!
