Lully was a composer of the Baroque period. His versatility, in addition to the musical works, extends his talent to the beginnings of the opera, dance, etc. His music is often a contagious joy, other times it has some severity, triumphalism and few calm periods. He is and extraordinary composer who influenced and participated in the musical evolution of the baroque period. The harmony and wonderful music are remarkable. The orchestra and its direction are superb. Long live to Lully music. Bravissimo.

Bravissimo, what a great and dignified comment. Long live Lully's music. If I may say this just between the two of us: the grandeur of Lully's musical talent may be put down to his birth in the Principality of MONACO, where he found gifted and generous sponsors like Prince Honoré II Himself, who recognized the supreme talent of young Jean-Baptiste Lully. Long live Lully and long live the Principality of Monaco: MÚNEGU SEMPRE (Monaco forever) !

There's something about that combination of kettledrums and brass in the French Baroque that suggests the magnificence of the royal court.

@@kabylmakeshov6060 I've wondered about this statue. I wish that I could own that statue. That may be what you're told but I tell you that it is a vulgar characterization of watching the river run. Priests of the Temple . . . the chief Priest had bells attached to the hem of his garment. . .'belling the cat'. In actuality, that is John the Baptist who was forced out of Jerusalem for nudity and he was mauled by a cat on the Jordan River eating everything excepting the head . . . and responsibility for that was passed on to Mother Nature (Salome'). In the Temple they used to sacrifice and had a channel (river) of blood flow. Jesus went to the Jordan, looked in the water, and saw the reflection. He went ballistic.

Yes, imho that's absolutely true ! And " Le Roie danse " is a wonderful movie - and the Music is beautiful ! No doubt about that. Btw. do you know the Music composed by Mr. Marc Antoine Charpentier ? It's very beautiful French Baroque Music, highly recommended. And Mr. Jean-Philippe Rameau ? Though my all time favorite composer is Mr. Johann Sebastian Bach - especially his Cantata. And the best is - (again imho) - the " Matthäus-Passion " - kzitem.info/news/bejne/p259lmues5Fkho4 I really think this is the most Divine Music, ever composed in human history.. Of course " De Gustibus Non Disputandum Est " - still I like German Baroque Music most. Probably because I understand German quite well, I lived "im Schwarzwald" (in Germany) for several years, though I'm an American (and a descendant of Irish folks who moved to New Orleans, some 200 years ago..) Guess that's the reason Music is SO incredibly important to me - without enjoying lovely (Baroque - or.. Renaissance !) Music every day I cannot - do not want to - live, really.. Blessed Be, my very dear - fellow Ancient Music loving - friends ! "May the Music always be with you". ❤😊😊❤
