The song was originally sent to Sade from Lulu. But Sade writes and sings her own songs. Sade said the song would fit Tina Turner's Life story. Tina said when she got the song it was slow and soulful like a Sade song. Tina took the song and made it Pop. It was a massive world wide hit for Tina. I believe her last Top 10 hit in America. It was the theme song to her Movie about her life What's Love Got to Do With It?.

I enjoyed both versions of the song , they are just a little different and Lulu's version didn't really use the saxophone as Tina's , also her background singers didn't come in the way that Tina's did , Sade made a excellent choice to send it to Tina , thanks Lulu, Sade and Tina 😁🥰👍

Lulu wrote this, with others, for Tina Turner. I love both of their voices. They are different. And both great! And if you like these two singers, check out Aussie Tina Arena, who seems to have been influenced also by Lulu and covers this song and TO SIR WITH LOVE magnificently.

Though Lulu did a fine job singing this song, and "Sang it from the heart" as stated. I think that Tine Turner sang this song with more conviction, soul and passion. The song originally was given to Sada, but she gave it to Tina.

Lulu is a fabulous singer and this is a brilliant song but you have say it sounds a little flat when you compare it to Tina Turner's version. I'm a Tina fan so perhaps I'm a little biased but it's one of TT's biggest hits and yet she refuses to sing it live because of it's sad nature - she just isn't that kind of singer!
@joncampos5551

Hi Thanks so much for asking the question. Lulu wrote and recorded I Don't Wanna Fight, and sent the demo to Tina. Tina loved the arrangement and song and recorded, and her version which was almost the same as Lulu's original demo, which was such a compliment. I hope that answers why they sound so similar.
