For sure! We went from 3 Sonys to 2 LUMIX and just have one Fx30 left which will be sold in Jan when next LUMIX comes out. The A7iv overheats for us in summer at 40 mins, outside, on High temp, dummy battery, metal cage acting as heat sink and screen out. LUMIX S5ii never overheated. When temps and humidities went up I had A7iv overheat twice in 20 mins on a job. Fortunately had other cameras that worked.

@@robertbalkovec4087I do both photo and video. I own the 50mm 1.8 and 85mm 1.8 primes, the 24-105mm f4 (amazing for video) and the kit lens 20-60mm (surprisingly good for travel videos). On top of that I use the Tamron 17-35mm f2.8-4 and occasionally the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G2 both with EF mount but with the Sigma MC-21 adapter and they work like native.

@SakkiDuran

@@vladislav8415 it's better. I still think in full frame mode it's not that good as in apsc. I don't know why they did that maybe hardware limitations. Human+eye works the best in most situations and eye detect is perfect for interviews. You need to learn when to use each mode an tweak the settings to your needs. That's just talking about video. For photos the eye detect autofocus it's perfect. Just as any other one out there.

I find it hard to believe that Sony has overlooked so many things in the delivery of its IV series. Since I got it, I haven't had any problems, but it's evident how it has fallen behind several brands in terms of certain important details in a very short time. These issues include the burst mode, the focus (although they say it's the same as its older sibling A1, which doesn't disappoint, but...), the poor stabilization, the 4K crop, overheating... It's as if they focused on making a quick hybrid, maybe to be the first? Without giving importance or priority when it comes to enhancing this with respect to the arrival of the competition. In my opinion, it leaves a feeling of having only taken "a simple step up" from the III series. And with the famous nagging thought of the commercial strategy... Thinking about the new V series, which won't be long in coming. (When I say "not long", I mean one to two years, although I think we might learn more about it in 2024). To conclude, I'd like to say that we always appreciate the motivation you provide, not only through your work but also through the progress we see in your career. Greetings from the land of "pigs" :P (Spain), and thank you very much for your work. A hug.

I recorded with Sony A74 in the subtropics for over 45 min no problem. You need to. Turn off the heat setting and open the screen. Also the big winner for me are lenses and that’s why I went with Sony.

The big problem with cameras like the A7IV is that its performance varies a lot from camera to camera. I have been following this and there are comments similar to yours, where the camera behaves well without overheating. In other cases, people report that A7IV stopped recording due to overheating and missed important moments of recording an event. The big advantage of S5IIX is that this is no longer a problem. I filmed 3 hours of an event in 4k in a relatively hot environment (no air conditioning) and the camera had no problems whatsoever.

Its not a solution. Changin setting in camera to tolerate higher temperature is puting stress on sensor and other components. On long run it may shorten camera life or damage it.

@@ryszardzokowski812 mine never get that anyway even using it in the subtropics this summer I never had a problem with it getting to hot. And If someone is doing longhorn video than you should get a camera that is made for it every camera company has options. Lenses also play a very important role in that decision as well. I like Panasonic but they don’t have the lens selection for what I do and I also find the reds overpowering.

HI I currently shoot with an older fuji Xt3 and im looking to upgrade. Im trying to decide between 2 full frame cameras. The new Lumix s5iix or the older Sony A7siii. My use case is video only and im currently focused on realestate videos and some weddings, client work ect. My main concern is for filming real estate in 4k60. What would look better a7siii 4k60 or the lumix s5ii 4k60 cropped? Most high end videographers in the real estate industry use a7siii. Taking everything into account, noise, low light, Dynamic range, image quality ect which is better. My goal to get the best quality for 4k 60 video. Thank you
