This episode introduces us to two key L&O characters from the show’s S18-S20 run, Lupo and Executive ADA Michael Cutter, played by Linus Roache. And, of course, it’s Jack McCoy’s first episode replacing Arthur Branch as DA.

Like so many other people, Micheal McKean showed up in an earlier episode. If I remember correctly he was set up by his wife (played by his real life wife Annette O'Toole) - McCoy and Carmichael realized it at the end of the episode but couldn't prove anything.

except there are high ups who think their opinion is better than yours and they should be able to tell you want to do. Its called government, and power corrupts. You have to wear a seatbelt because your freedom doesn't matter. You can't kill yourself because we think our opinion is better than yours. If your kid acts up you can't spank them because our opinion matters your doesn't. Just typical government.

This should be a law here in the states if we wish to go we should have the same thing as across the river...assisted suicide...like we are given what is needed and monitored by a nurse or doctor and we are allowed to depart on our terms..I've watched assisted suicide...it's in a control environment...the person is surrounded by the people they love and with the nurse or doctor..the medical person gives them the meds and is there til the person peacefully passes
@ianleonard1838

It is legal in 13 states. MAID (medical assistance in death) is given for people who have less than six months to live and are oriented to their surroundings as long as they can physically take the medication themself. It's a peaceful and comfortable way to die

There is a beautiful documentary called "How to Die in Oregon " its about legal assisted suicide in the United States which for a long time was only in Oregon. It follows real people who have taken that option. I didn't know how I felt about it until I saw that documentary and listened to those people and their families, friends, and doctors. When you get to experience a part of it, you'll cry, smile, and genuinely be happy for them all. I now feel that it a should be legal in all of America and everyone should have that choice. Check out the documentary.
@eolsunder

of course it should be legal, its the persons personal choice. In cases like this its big government like they always do imposing THEIR opinion over yours, thinking THEY should make your decisions for you. Wear your seatbelt, don't kill yourself, our opinion matters, yours doesnt, you can't spank your kids, and a hundred other things.

@@ianleonard1838 and in other states there are ways "around" such stupid suicide laws such as Hospice who let you administer drugs to sick relatives at home, who tell you "make sure you only give this amount of morphine for the pain, because this amount is lethal" wink wink.
