Lovely tune. So interesting to see where Ren came from; learn a bit about his background. We haven’t heard an update from him in over a week; hope he’s healing from the surgery infection.

I don't have Ren's originality or courage to immerse myself in the world of music as he has done. So it's only a partial explanation. But thanks

@@martingilluk1 Oddly i didn't find Ren through music at first. I was in a bad accident with a severe neck injury a few years ago. I was reading articles to get through things. I ran across an article called Kid life crises. It was so well written. Then i discovered his musical talents. Take care Mr. Gill. Love your music also!

Beautiful performance 🙏🏼. Thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t say I’ve ever seen folk musician using loops and pedals. Can’t believe it wasn’t until my 2nd watch that it sank in what instrument you’re playing and I flashed back to teenage years in the 70’s - 📺 watching a silly cheese shop sketch by some British circus group on our local PBS channel (US). 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼

Great cover. Remember finding the tune sung by Malicorne and being immensely inspired. Had the luck of performing it a while back and it's a very touching performance always

Baroque in the blood! Can you explain a little bit about what you’re doing there? Do you have two tape loops running for the mandolin and drum at the same time?

Using a looper and just the Bazouki as a percussion instrument. Towards the end of the recording I think I added a harmonising pedal that sounded nice and grungy.
