I'm a vocal coach here in Australia and all of my students are directed by me to listen to the real master and through the years many young Australians have come to be devotees of the great man and have learned how an artiste the calibre of LUTHER paints a song with his voice.

At 45 minutes and 10 seconds at the end of the video,Luther`s niece said that ''he set a standard in the music industry now that is not being met''.She explained the highlight of his career very well.

I loved me some Luther Vandross. I wish I could have been in the car when he and his mom use to sing while in my granddad's car. We never met but I did meet his moms sister who would fondly always speak of the two of them. He was one of a kind and I still remember seeing him live in concert 9 months pregnant. I stood on my feet singing from the moment he came out on stage til the last song and had my baby two days later lol. I will never forget that, his first song was Never too Much which remains my favorite still. I remember his song Superstar playing for the first dance at my wedding. All these years have gone by and I still miss what he brought not only to the music industry but to the world for the person he was. He deserved this honor.

Happy Marcus Miller attended for him along with his close loved ones. I can only smile thinking back on Luther's public life moments and reflect on his career highs in wonderment. Wish you were here Rosso I can almost hear that exquisite speech of acceptance you'd deliver. 4 Ever Always ❤ You Are

When I first heard Luther do the lead vocals for Gregg Diamond & Bionic Boogie on the 1978 track hot butterfly, I was only 8 yrs old and I loved the song as it was played regularly in the house of course I didn't know who Luther was I just read the record which said it was Greg Diamond but I just loved the song and in the 80's I was his biggest fan along with Michael Jackson. The he came to London in 1987 at Hammersmith odeon and the queue went around the block and live he was just as good if not better than the records

Marcus Miller one of my favourite bass players. He wrote all those funky bass lines for Luther. My favourites are "it's over now" and "till my baby comes home" from "the night I fell in love" album and "she's a super lady" from "never too much".
