1937 and doubtful that any of those young ladies are still with us. It is wonderful that we can still see and hear them...a vision of England when it was a very different place....greatly missed.

@@enidlock6962 Enid, thank you for posting your memories and whilst sad that only one of your sisters who were in the choir survives, it is wonderful that she is still here. I have been thinking back to those times and recordings as a friend for over fifty years died this morning aged 96. She was a violinist in the Leicester Symphony orchestra from the War years and afterwards. She may have become infirm in the past 3/4 months but her mind was still as clear as in her 20’s….still positive, bright and a delight to talk to. Our friends from those long ago days were very special people and it is good that recordings exist of your sisters songs. I listen to them regularly to this day.

Was guided to this after watching Old Mother Riley on Talking Pictures. Magic! Play this and I feel so rested and relaxed and it makes the heart sing. Playing all the other recordings and especially adore You Are My Hearts Delight. My husband passed away in 2009 who I had been with since 1958 and I have been alone ever since except for my wonderful children and grandchildren. Missing so much my Mum and Dad who are no longer here - this helps erase the pain of losing loved ones. Thank you You Tube - the most wonderful invention ever - and thank you Old Mother Riley - I fell off the settee with laughter at your antics - you're brilliant!

This excerpt is taken from the low budget comedy film 'Old Mother Riley - Headmistress with Arthur Lucan in drag as the comic Irish Washerwoman. Lucan and MacShane were a music hall comedy act who made several movies between the 1930's and early 50's,
