Shot entirely in 4K, this video reflects the unique experience of Luxor
I got Luxor Pass for the entire family which allowed us open door to all sites in Luxor as many times we wanted. It is expensive but totally worth it when travelling with kids and temperature soaring over 40 degree C.
Each Luxor Pass is 200USD for adults and 100USD for children and students(with valid ID cards). It is issued from Karnak Temple Office against cash payment only. One needs to produce original passport, 2 copies of passport and 1 passport size photo for getting Luxor Pass.
Best way to reach Luxor from Cairo is to take a flight( 1 hour duration, EgyptAir).
Buying individual tickets at each entrance gate and having to take long queues is a big pain but can be done if adults only are travelling and this might save some money for sure.
Due to windy conditions in flying zone our Hot Air Balloon Ride was cancelled which was disappointing.
We stayed at Hotel Steigenberger Nile Palace, a 5* property facing the Nile which I can thoroughly recommend.
Travel by horse-driven carriages are very enjoyable and can substitute taxis, help the local economy and be environment friendly as well.
At least one whole day must be kept aside for visit to the Valley of Kings and Queens, one day for Luxor and Karnak temples, etc.
Luxor Temple deserves a visit at twilight and Light and Sound Show at Karnak is a must
