Thanks for the info.Sea routes to India had existed much before the Portuguese, as can be seen in Kerala Jewish ,Arabic tradition.The Parsis arrived in Gujarat by sea. India also had trade routes with Chinese not only through the silk route .

Thanks for introducing this very unique place. Just as others have pointed, I want to tell you that Vasco De Gama did not discover India. He was perhaps the first European to have discovered a sea route to India, that too with the help of an Indian sailor. Indians have known the sea routes to Africa for a long time, perhaps since the time of Ravana.

I’m from Karwar and I live here too. We grew up hearing plenty of stories about no one being allowed to visit the island except on the day of the Narasimha Temple jatra (fair) that falls on a particular full moon day. We were told that the island was infested with snakes, and we believed 😂 Thanks for this video with no mention of those creatures 😅
@TheRovingHeart
Жыл бұрын
Wow! That's interesting because I heard from someone else from Karwar who said that they used to go here often before it was taken over by Cintacor. I've heard about the snakes but mostly in the context of you need to wear shoes to protect yourself but didn't find any when we walked around the island 🏝️Except for when an eagle caught a snake!

Thank you for stopping by :) Like any coastal place, winters are usually much nicer and less humid. So anytime between October to February, should be a good time. However, In January for a couple of days, the resort is closed as locals from Karwar visit the temple to celebrate a village festival. You can book directly on booking.com. Link is in the description

It's is believed that Lord Narasimha had visited the KURUMGAD ISLAND piercing rock into two parts... You can watch the rocks pierced at 7:22 .... That's the reason there is a narasimha temple and people of Karwar celebrate Narasimha Fair in the month of December or January.... People are taken for free by the local fishermen from Baitkol. Loved the way video was shown.. Would have been better if you had collected the information from local Karwar people you would have got more information.

We went in July and we were the only tourists there . Went looking for oyster shells in the mornings . There is also a quicksand . (There was a guide) If you cannot afford this island ,do go there. Glad to help. Please find my answers below: 1. You need to reach the jetty from which the ferry will take you to Kurumgad island. 2. Once you book through the website or booking.com, you'll be contacted by the staff a day before who will share the ferry drop off point. Our pickup was from close to Gopika hall in Karwar but that might change. 3. Well, the staff is kind and will help you with the best of their abilities. Apart from swimming costume, I can't think of anything else. 4. Like any coastal places, winters are usually much nicer and less humid. So anytime between October to February, should be a good time. 5. Yes. Of course.. I'm a vegetarian too and I didn't have any problem there. There are options available. I hope you have a great time in Cintacor. Have fun! 😊

It looks like it only has one small tiny beach with sand. The difference with the Maldives is the Maldives is stunning because you have pure White sand and and the beautiful turquoise waters. This place is like Goa which has brown sand. If Goa had white sand it would be stunning. The pure White sand reflects the sun, so you get a tan almost immediately in Maldives...that is important for White people who come for short holiday.

Great location...and the fact that it is near Karnataka is definitely enticing. Thanks for covering this. However...and I may be wrong here, but based on what I am seeing in the video, neither the hotel nor the facilities/attractions on the island seem well developed or well thought out. To be honest, this seems way too expensive for what one would get in return. At that price, the overall experience should be nothing short of breathtaking.
