Thanks so much for the tips and education. I’m here in Orlando and searching for all the knowledge I can get about fruit trees so I can get mines going. I’m excited but it can be alot trying to learn everything so I appreciate you very much! Got my mango seeds in a sealed container so we’ll see in a couple weeks if they sprout and that will be the start to my fruit tree journey :). Praise the most HIGH! Thanks elder

We have a lechee tree that’s about 6 feet tall and very wide. We need to move it, how deep and wide do the roots typically get? How difficult will this be to do and should we hire someone to do this?

Hiya!!! Is it true that lychee and longan trees prefer more acidic soil like blueberries? I just ordered a couple trees and will be growing them in pots, so initially I would use my typical citrus/berry blend mix potting soil plus mushroom compost for good drainage. Would that work? 🤔

@@orlandogardener Thank youuu! After a couple months my Kohala longan is thriving and putting on new growth! 🥰 Both Sweetheart Lychees are just kinda sitting there, and their leaf tips are browning from the wind, so I keep moving them around till I find them a spot they’re happy in. 😅 By the way, thanks to watching you grow mangos in pots all these years, and because I got a polly tunnel now, I got six new mango babies!!! ❤️ A Kesar, Nam Doc Mai, Glenn, Pickering, Sugar Loaf, and an Orange Sherbet. I figured that since I’ve managed to grow citrus over the last 4 years, I ought to be able to grow mangos too. AND I got a Lamb Hass avocado on the wayyy. 😂💕 Bless you and your fam, and thanks so much for inspiring and motivating me to grow things I never thought I could grow in Washington zone 8b! ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️

How long till they fruit? From seed or from graft? Does this also work for Longan ??
@orlandogardener

It can take 5 years from seed grafted trees quicker

Do you loosen the soil as much when transplanting to the ground as well? I can never decide if I really want to loosen the roots when doing so

I have two mango trees that I bought this year. One of them is a dwarf hawaiian and a lil gem and they are both in 3 gallon pots. How do I know when to transfer them to a larger pot? Also what size pot do I transfer them too? Also how often should i water them? I've been watering them every 3 days with rain water from my water drum.

Why don’t you just plant on ground? Would be that easier?

We grow in pots so we can have more varieties if we put everything in the ground we would not have enough room

@@orlandogardener Thank You for the information. I will give them a visit. BTW I am using oil pans from Dollar Tree for 7 Gal pots. They work great and for the price it’s a blessing. Like you started having fruit trees in a pot is a job. You have to keep watering them a lot. They tend to dry up super fast.
