I was lucky to move out at 16 to another country and see another reality and educate myself to understand the one and only monster was my father and we were all victims of his perpetrations.

Just because I have my own opinions doesn't mean I don't understand abuse. It still does not give 2 men the right to shoot and kill their parents. If they choose to do that , then pay the consequences. Pretty simple. You sure don't get a free pass for murder because you were abused. Thus is just my opinion, you a free to have yours as well.

Having lived through an abusive relationship where the abuser would look for sick twisted ways to break me down emotionally physically sexually etc I totally understand where they are coming from. I think it's sick that a jury would sentence these kids to prison their testimony is so vivid and effortless it comes from memory - people have to understand that you can live an abuser and still be terrified of them - The way people look at us in disgust or disbelief when we discuss the level of torment - it's never about the bad times it's about the good moments the abuser allows you to have. If an abuser was bad all the time it'd be easy to recognise and leave - So sorry for these men but that's the justice system for you. Women/ children are abused daily and the court system allows it - if I had the opportunity again I would've killed mine that's the only escape you'll have wait for them to attack you and clock them - There is only one victim and that's a dead one - I for one am proud that these boys now men defended themselves - they stood in truth and were persecuted for the pleasure of being child abuse victims . I was in an adult relationship where horrendous abuse occured , i can only imagine how horrific it was for these boys given it was their own parents . People look at victims like they are to blame - they dehumanise us degrade us - they minimise our experiences and trauma - we may have it together on the outside but on the inside it's a different story some scars just don't heal .

The first thing a murderer says when on trial is abuse in some form, they are doing the same thing all murderer's do, blaming someone for why they done it, bottom line is they murdered their unsuspecting parents in a horrific way, they are nothing but murderer's for the money, I'm sure the parents were good to them, they were rich they never wanted for anything they just wanted the control not their parents making the choices for their well being, which is what parents do, I can't believe so many are defending these 2 & believing a word that comes out of their mouths, they planned the murders which makes them monsters, they are nothing but evil & look at the people defending them, I hope they never get out!!! And who would marry either one of these 2 behind bars after what they done, you would have to be as demented as them, their parents are dead after being brutally murdered by their own sons, they have evil in their eyes, WOW!!!!

school was being paid for if they stayed, free living, being scared to leave, having no money and nowhere to go, scared you are going to get killed or punished for saying sum is a huge reason not to leave. They still could have been harmed if they left. Its been over 26 years so let em out with strict probation. Often people who are molested don't say a word, even to their therapists so I don't see why they made it a big deal that they didn't tell the therapist.

The only thing I see here is how a toxic rich family created two spoiled brats monsters. They aren't victims they're murders who clearly think they did the right thing and dont really show remorse at all. The only fact here is that they killed their parents. Everything else they might have said to make themselves a victim is just theories bc we will never know if it is true bc a murder is not exactly someone you can trust and well the parents are dead.

And tell u the truth my brother & I were abused too by our grandmother back in our childhood (shes really heartless & she really doesnt care or love her own children or/& grandchildren) she beat us, gives us bruises, etc...... 😢😢😢 then finally our parents saw it & we confess it to them & they were shocked & they believe us & finally my parents had enough of our abusive heartless grandmother & finally told her to get out of the house (finally kicked her out), get out of the U.S. country, fly back to Europe & never come back ever again. My grandmother should have go to jail for what she did to us.

Think it was all accident that they have killed their parents as they used a gun in killing them knowing inside their house and know they have neighbors etc. and that they confide also to their relatives what actually happened. If they have intentions killing their parents, they could just hired killers or maybe poisoned them, etc. - for the children to do it with their parents who were also young at that time meant they could have indeed have molested them. Guess they have paid enough by years in prisons and that they could be given a chance to be together again as they are brothers. Deserved to have a nice family.

Erik and Lyle both were molested, Erik was molested all his 18 years by his dad and his Mother knew about it. The Molestation stopped by the dad with Lyle but started with the Mother. This is so sad and heartbreaking and to be in Prison for life is not fair. They were both scared their parents were going to kill them both, Erik did not want his dad to tough him again. The only way out is killing their parents and not thinking, Erik wanted a way out and I don't blame him, he was torched all his life and Lyle was torched most of his life. I'm Praying they both get another Trial in 2021 and the Judge and Jury really listens to the brothers really close and why they killed their parents.

@jstephenj
4 жыл бұрын
Yeah. That seemed like overkill to me, almost as if the defense wasn't confidant that their claims of the mother being cold and distant might not sway the jury to acquit them. Did you hear the latest claims by Robert Rand, the journalist who believes that the brothers should be set free? He believes that Jose had been molested by his mother, thus perpetuating the theory of this sexual abuse saga spanning not 2 but 3 generations. Deflection has been the defense's m.o. since day one. And I find it interesting that they impugn or impeach the character and testimonies of the dead, Maria Menendez being the latest to be in the crosshairs, apparently.

Well for one during the retrial the judge didn't let attorneys focus too much on the sexual abuse and the boys did confess to killing their parents. Personally I think the court should've seen it as a case of self defense rather than just murder because of the years of sexual abuse the brothers experienced.

"The father had a shot gun blast to the back of his head" the video states. That means that they were attacked out of the blue and indicated they weren't in imminent danger that night. How that doesnt stick out to you all and more people is quite disturbing. It's like you all didnt listen to what the people were saying in this video.
@blackangel1361

You are wrong. Their father had several wounds, the one to the back of his head was the last one inflicted. The autopsy and crime scene photos showed that their father was standing and moving towards them considering the trajectory and the position of the wounds. So the narrative that their father was ambushed from behind and shot in the head is completely wrong. From what we know, they were not in imminent danger at the moment they did the shootings. They reacted to the cues and events that preceeded the shootings due to their long time history with their parents/abusers. We would probably never think of going into that room and start firing the guns. But our brains and our minds do not react to certain circumstances in the way theirs do. When you live your entire life being threatened by your parents you learn to read cues differently. And when someone threatens you and then closes the door on you, and you know that there are rifles in the house, your fear level increases and your instinct to survive takes over.

@blackangel1361

@@HaleThePanda There is entire trial available on Court TV webpage. Dr. Golden was the medical examiner and explains that the first wound was inflicted into father's thigh as he was standing and moving. If he had been seated as the media says, there would be blood on the couch behind the thigh. There wasn't any. The testimonies of the detectives tells that the french doors behind the couch were shattered from the inside, so the shooters were not behind the father. Also the narrative was in the media that the parents were kneecapped to make it look like the mafia did it. That was proven to be false because both parents were not shot in the knees. Father had a wound on his thigh and mother on her upper calf. Also one more thing to be noted, they both sustained 16 wounds but it was proven that 8 shots were fired. One shot caused more than one wound. The trial is long, it took me a week to go through it. But if you have other questions about the case I would be glad to answer them.

@@HaleThePanda The prosecution. It's always the prosecution that cals the medical examiner in a murder trial. He testified how many wounds were inflicted, where they were and whether they were fatal or not. He also concluded that only two wounds were fatal and contact wounds, other were all distant shots. But the defense asked him about the possibility whether the wounds were inflicted in the way the bodies were found and the order of shots.
