I have the All American 8 and love it! Lyman has excellent customer service too. I had a minor priming issue and emailed them about it, they sent me a complete priming system including all tubes. I did not ask not expect that, but it sure was nice of them.

I have been using my All American Turret press for a little over a year now and I simply love it. I also have extra turrets and that is my favorite feature. Once you get your dies set up where you want/need them thats its. Your done. No more messing around. Just change out the turret head and get busy. It has cranked out some very nice and accurate ammo so far. For $250 you will be hard pressed to make a better lifetime investment. I can not speak for priming system as I do not use it. I have an external priming system as thats just my preference. Safe and straight shooting to all!

Gavin, you have lots of single stage presses to play with. It would be nice to see a comparison across brands as to which press requires the least amount of effort to full length size brass. Maybe you could use a heavy scale for measuring the amount of force/weight applied to the handle to fully raise the ram. Keep up the good work!

Or which one is best in your own thoughts. Everything is great and we should buy all? Lol GIVE ME A ALL AROUND SINGLE PRESS THATS THE BEST FOR LESS THEN 400 DOLLARS FOR US MIDDLE CLASS FOLK!

@@nickmundo8265 All of those presses fall in that category. I have the 8-stage Turret Press, for years I have used a single stage "O" press that is a Lyman as well. Lyman makes good presses and affordable as well. I too have a Dillon press and have had an RCBS as well as a Lee turret press. I got rid of the RCBS and the Lee turret press. They both worked fine but they did not fit my reloading preferences. I now have my Dillon I primarily use and the Brass Smith 8 Turret Press as well as my older Lyman single stage "O" press I am retiring. The Turret press is to consolidate my bench space. I put a bullet puller in one station, I put a powder measure in another and I put a universal de-primer die in another station. I have put full length sizing dies in other stations to full length size cases. In my Dillon I have neck sizing dies for many of my rifles. Only when I need to full length size do I use the other press. But the best bang for ones money is the Lyman Brass Smith 8-Turret if you shop around and find it online for the cheapest price you can. It is also the most versatile.

Gavin, you must be part of the elete.......great that you have access to all these presses, I ordered A/A8 in march from cabelas, called them in june, wheres press? they said backordered & then cancelled my order, nice!.....then they even deleted the press & info from online section of there web site, nice! ......a week later, shows up again, im the first to order, 6 weeks go by, called them, backordered, then they deleted that order, nice! .....looked on there site, press is still avail ( in some other world I guess) ordered it again, as of this minute, it still ordered, but backordered, nice!! what is cabelas & Lyman thinking about? to display a product & then NEVER have it available, this looks bad for both companies...Lyman really cant make presses for cabelas orders, are you kidding me! ........looks like a nice press, for now I can only dream of owning one....

Sadly, amazon or ebay are the only places I order reloading components like presses, dies, lube etc. Guaranteed in stock and same day shipping. Hard to beat. Cabelas SUCKS at shipping stuff btw.

Gavin. can you do a side by side of the Redding and lyman. I'm leaning more on the lyman all American 8. One for the fact it's sold with the primer system included. Where the Redding is sold separately. And the difference in the lyman is a cast iron body that's hollow? And the Redding is a solid cast iron to my knowledge. This is where I'd like to see the tolerances between the two. I know they both have the supports at the back of the turret plates. Great videos keep up the great work 👍.

Been overloading trying to find the right press to start with. Came across this video and your other one for the All American 8. I think I'm going to give this a try. Was looking at some single stages but I don't see how I can go wrong with the turret. I just hope I will know what I'm doing at some point. lol

I hope you got the press and have got into reloading to suit yourself. I have been reloading a very long time and have just purchased the American 8. It is a great press, and I got a great deal on the one I bought. It is certainly hard to find reloading supplies now. If you did get that press, I suggest you purchase things in bulk when you can find them. But do make sure not to buy bulk in something that you are not familiar with, only proven powders, brass and primers, bullets too. You don't want bulk in something that doesn't turn out to be any good. Been there and done that.

If you would compare the Lyman All-American 8 with the Redding T7 press, are there any significant advantages or disadvantages? 7 or 8 stations does not really matter for me, but the Redding press is much more expensive than the Lyman.

I have the T7, I can’t speak for the all AA8 but I would never look at another turret after using the T7. Just great function and don’t feel like they went cheap on anything. I highly recommend the T7.

Buy once, cry once, I compared both presses. The Lyman is a decent press for sure. I went with the Redding press because it is just a more refined precisely machined tool. That's where the money is Hope that helps someone

Gavin could you please answer this question for me? I have the Lyman T Mag II for my pistol and revolver ammo and I'm totally happy with that but my question is I'm looking to load 6.5 creedmoor and 30-06 with a single press. Will the ideal if I do my part load accurate rifle rounds as well as most single stage presses or am I trying to get off too cheap? Please your response will help me tremendously!

What'd you get? I really like the T-7's primer disposal over the American 8's (Although it should be better than my Rockchucker's). I'll likely end up with the '8' mainly because it includes the primer loading system.

This is a great video, thank you for the information! I can tell you that I've been pleasantly surprised by the concentricity of the ammo my Lee Classic Turret press turns out, often around only 2 thousandths runout if I do my part without adjustment. My only real complaint about the Lee is that it only has four die stations, I wish it had at least 5 for maybe a powder check die or a bullet feeder die. Edit: Oh, two complaints actually. I hated the priming system and opted for hand priming. lol
