Mikael delves deep into a mega-project proposal for Copenhagen called Lynetteholm and as an urban design expert, he is not a fan. To say the least.

He analyses this real estate project and exposes the blatant flaws and the dangers for life in the city. The project is to make land to make money but the spin around it tries to cover that up. A harbour tunnel will pump more cars into Copenhagen, there is a housing crisis but not for homes for the wealthy and there are cheaper, more effective ways to protect the city from rising sea levels and storm surges than the crazy project that By og Havn are desperately trying to force through.
The project is being expedited through the corridors of power so they can avoid it becoming an issue in the municipal election later in 2021 - because they are clearly afraid that it will dominate the debate and be rejected.
Copenhagen was once a benchmark city for urban design and development. That's no longer the case. Cities all over Europe are fighting to remove highways and car parking and create instead public space and space for intelligent transport forms like trams and bicycles. Copenhagen is becoming soooo last century.
